Gian Galeazzo Visconti

Lord of Milan, son of Galeazzo II and Bianca of Savoia (sister of Amedeo VI , the Green Count). Born on the 16th October 1351, succeded his  father in 1378, he became the only lord of the state in 1385, and became duke of Milan in 1395 and duke of Lombardy in 1397.

For the greatness of his personality, the magnificence of his court, the wonderful buildings (Certosa of Pavia, Duomo of Milan), the generosity to artists and men of letters, Gian Galeazzo Visconti gained the reputation as a great prince.
