The "campari" |
One of the
main aims of the town council was to defend the properties of the countryside. For this reason every year the Town Council elected a sufficient quantity of Campari, honest men who had to look after and to report damages of the properties. They elected twelve Campari for the vineyards and each Camparo had to look after an area; if there where thefts and they didn't find the person guilty of the left, the "Camparo" had to pay for the damage on his own. Every "camparo" had to look after their area during all the day also during the night and they could never absent themselves. |
