The best thing to do is contact the manufacturer and get their recomendation. They can give you information as to exactly where to install the ladder it and if there is any reason a ladder should not be instaled

It's highly likely that, if the ladder wasn't put on at the factory, they've omitted the glassed-in blocks that would be needed to support the load. Others might have experience with attaching a ladder without the support blocks
