Last week I had the pleasure of sharing with you my affection for some of the great mascots of Texas' high school athletics, like Itasca's Wampus Cats, Trent's Gorillas and Port Lavaca-Calhoun's Fightin' Sand Crabs. I've always felt that if there was justice in this world, a few places would have different mascots - more fitting or colorful mascots, if you will, than the ones they employ today.
