Forests
The wood
area, that is localized mostly on the hills, is caracterised by
woods of oak, mixed and coniferous forests (pine and fir –
trees). The mixed forests, consisting of oak tree, hazel,
lime tree, hornbeam etc., that alternate with a trama of
vineyards, fields and with a meadow lands for grazing wich
surround the village. There are many copses. Nearly 250
decares of new forestland were planted in 2003 for the forst
regeneration.
Flora
& Fauna
On the
territory of the village, there are plenty of aromatic and
officinal herbs (such as rose hip, camomile, mint etc.), wild
fruits and flowers. Here, migratory birds stop off, such as
storks and swallows, that leave tropical Africa every spring to
reproduce. Among the forest animals we can meet a wolf, a
foxe, a deer.
There are numerous faunistic presences
throughout the hill and the valley territories: wild boar,
rabbits, weasels, stone martens, squirrels, hedgehogs. Among
the avifauna, there are larks, crows, cuckoos, pheasants,
chaffinches, jays, woodpeckers, wrens, thrushes, wild ducks,
nightingales, blackbird, partridge etc.
Birds, such as
the wild ducks, quail, pheasants breed there. The population
of the red deer in the neighbouring Byala Forest is of interest.
This place offers the possibility of hunting tourism.
