Trapping cages
Already in prehistoric times fish
were caught using a bow-net. A funnel-shaped entrance
makes it possible to swim easily into the net but makes
going back impossible. Trapping cages for mice and rats
work usually in the same way. The trapping cages for mice usually have an opening on the top and one on the side. The bigger cages for catching rats can also include other setting mechanisms like e.g. trapdoors operated by counterweights or springs and doors that can be opened from the outside but not from the inside (like a letter-box). Trapping cages can be entirely made out of metal wire or have a metal or wooden base plate. |
