Winamp con il passare degli anni rimane sempre il miglior software per riprodurre i propri brani musicali. Questa ultima versione (5) deriva dall'unione della vecchia versione 2 con la più nuova 3 (2+3=5). Preleva tutti i lati migliori della 2 e della 3 ottenendo un prodotto veloce e funzionale. Non è ancora disponibile da versione finale, ma questa RC8 si avvicina molto a quel traguardo. Ecco il corposo changelog di tutte le release candidate solo:
