environments in Finland may exhibit some of the following behaviours:
- Quiet, non interrupting
- Respect for the teacher
- Reading and writing to speaking
- Respect for the other trainees – no interrupting or prompting
Some of the core values and beliefs that may be ‘running this behaviour’ are:
- Non-intrusive
- Hard work is respected
- Low levels of self-confidence
- Endurance and perseverance are important for success
- Fairness is crucial
Some Do’s may be:
- Show respect for trainee opinion
- Progress slowly
- Keep a high level of work load –
- plenty of exercise for each element of theory
Some Don’ts may be:
- Surprise
- Be aggressive
- Show any unfairness
- Make personal jokes
- Ask personal questions in front of everyone
- Embarrass a trainee
