Award-winning Yearbook Staff Union County Advocate
The 2005-2006 Union County High School Yearbook Staff received the following "Mark of Excellence" yearbook honors awarded at the 34th Annual Western Kentucky University's Journalism Scholars Day: 1st place for Best Yearbook Photography, 1st place for Best Yearbook Advertising, 2nd place for Best Yearbook Student Life, and 3rd Place (tie) Best High School Yearbook.

Carmel High School science teacher Cindy Radaker received a $250 Eli Lilly grant to fund a unit on sea urchin embryology in her ninth-grade honors biology classes. Radaker said chemical stimulation will be used to cause the sea urchins to release egg or sperm cells.
