What is E. di C. plc? The 13th October 2001 E. di C. plc was set up. Its primary purpose was the establishment of an Entrepreneurial Pole available to companies that wanted to adhere to the Economy of Communion project. The idea of creating an Entrepreneurial Italian Pole, like the first one created in Brazil during the early 90s, was born during a congress held at Castelgandolfo (Rome), to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Economy of Communion. 700 persons gathered, among them there were entrepreneurs, economists and scholars. Following the interest aroused by the proposal, in July 2001 a group of experts was formed to investigate the project, study legislation, find the guidelines and the future location. They chose Burchio, a location near Loppiano (Incisa in Val d'Arno, Florence) which is the first international village of the Focolare Movement. During this meeting they also decided to name the Entrepreneurial Pole to Lionello Bonfanti, a well-known Italian magistrate died in 1981, as he was the first to participate in the building of Loppiano.
Then E. di C. plc is one of the 242 Italian businesses which operate according to the guidelines of EoC. What is its activity? Beside the construction and management of the Pole Lionello Bonfanti, now completed and fully active, the E. di C. spa is going to develop accounting, administrative, managing and training services for companies hosted in the building and offered to external customers. The training activities that develop in various sectors, will give particular attention to the spreading of the guiding principles of the Economy of Communion. It also works as cultural centre for training and assistance to traders who adhere to the principles of running a business and sharing the profits made with the project "Economy of Communion in freedom" of the Focolare Movement. |
The Economy of Communion (EoC) project involves businesses in 5 continents. Spread the "Culture of Giving" and of loving - indispensable and necessary values for an Economy of Communion; Develop the business - which has to be efficient as well as open to giving.
