To participate to this competition you must provide a C64 music tune, following the below rules:
Tune must be a C64 executable (prg). If you made even a psid file, sent it too for best listening for users
Size of the prg must be 256 byte or 512b (if someone want to have a 1KB size limit, we can look for it eventually)
You can use all the C64 ROMs code, like Kernal and Basic
Program must be executed with a simple RUN (not SYS xxxx or similar instruction)
You can use even compression, but the program must be able to decompress itself while running
Tune can be even original or cover/remix (covers with so little space are hard in every case)
In case of cover/remix, please provide the author/title of the music.
Note that the tune must be new (or, in other terms , it must not be had released in the past)
Please, specify the chip SID model you compose the tune and/or if it is PAL or NTSC based (this is just for better listening to it)
There is no limit in the number of tunes a people can send to the compo
Submission will be valid from 15 January to 25 April 2005
User vote will be performed from 27 April to 7 May 2005 (Competitors can vote too), result on 8 May
I hope to have at least 3 entries for category for a true competition. Submission date could be extended if necessary
Author will allow me to eventually put the code of the program into and article of SIDin magazine
Finally my email address is ice00 (at) libero.it. I will replay to all the tune/vote arrived withing few days. If you did not receive an answer, resent because the mail probably went lost.
fix rule (from 9/2): as this is even a programming compo, it's naturally that the code should come out from you.
That means that you are not allowed to use elsewhere code without original author permission (it's fine if you use
public domain code providing the origin of that).
So you are not allowed to rip and use code already submitted in this compo
(ripping such tiny routine is quite easy). Such tunes will be not allowed to compete in this compo!
Try to be creative and you will find your way....
As a final note: I reserve to change the rules only for bug fix them.
