It's a fine place where spend holiday alla over the year. Viareggio means Italian Riviera since early 1850. Town was built just in front of the sea along a sandy beach between Massa and Pisa around 1000 b.c.. During centuries has grown becoming in last century the finest Italian beach. Passeggiata with its shops, caffè is a nice place to take a walk surrounded by Liberty architecture (see Caffè Margherita in the above picture). Viareggio is the most confortable place where spend your vacation also during other seasons, a lot of festival take place in town all over the year. Most famous is the Carnival, a huge event during which Viareggio it 's full of music and color and taste of Rio de Janeiro... Viareggio is the convenient location to use as base to discovery Tuscany region and all Italy.

Florence is just 40' by car along A11 highway or 1 20' by speed train. Pisa and Lucca are 23 kms. Milan is 210 km , Turin is 310, Venice and Rome are 400 kms. All Italian main town are easily reachable by Viareggio central railway station or Pisa International Airport.
