Why I Love My Bedroom

Great design notion :
"I think things that might be perceived as 'mistakes' by other people are what make a room interesting".

The paint she chose :
A peachy tan called "Pralines and Cream" to accent the dark spots in the white-washed pillars along the walls.

How she found "wall space" :
Two sets of French doors left her with little room for artwork, so she had the ceiling painted with a mural of flying cherubs.

Where she got her favorite sheets :
From the Spiegel catalog. "They're cotton and feel like the coziest T-shirt you can imagine. They're just so delicious".

She had to search for :
A mahogany bed to match her floor. (She found it at Ethan Allen).

Trial and error :
When her bedroom looked unbalanced, with too much big furniture on one side, she rearranged to create symmetry.

Easy accessories :
Incense from the Gap and meditation candles.

She coludn't live without :
Her CD alarm clock. "I like to choose the music I wake up to - it can set the tone for the whole day".

"My decorating philosophy is that,
no matter how good something looks,
it has to work with how you live in the room.
I love my lamps,
but I keep knocking them over when I reach
for my alarm clock.
That's just not practical".
