Lace Museums and permanent Lace Exhibits Lace Tours at the Smithsonian Lace tours at the Smithsonians National Museum of American History in Washington, DC are again being conducted on a monthly basis. Shown are examples of early 17th through 20th century lace from the Textile Collection. Lace making tools, portraits displaying lace, conditions of the lace makers and other links to social and historical events are also discussed. The free tours are given on the fourth Thursday of every month from 10 am to noon except November, December and Federal Holidays.
