The Lace Museum in Bellanaleck, 4 miles from Enniskillen, has approx. 140 exhibits.
All the five main types of Lace made on Ireland are represented in the collection. Youghal Needlelace, Inishmaesaint Needlelace, Crochet, Limerick and Carrickmacross. All the Lace dates from between 1850 and 1900.
On display in the museum are an Irish Crochet Wedding dress, Wedding Veils, Shawls, Parasols, Collars, Baby Bonnets, Christening Gowns, Flounces, Jackets and many more Items.
Much of Irelands finest examples of Lace were exported during the last century.
Many now belong to Royalty and Dignitaries all over the world.
The exhibits in this Museum have not only been selected for their very high standard of work, but also their elegance and beauty.
