ABSTRACT
The study is made by the collaboration among ENEA, University of Salerno and
Laboratory of Clinical Analysis of the Hospital "Maria SS. Addolorata"
in Eboli (SA).
This report provides a Life Cycle Assessment-based method for studying and
quantifying environmental impacts due to the service given by the Laboratory.
The calculation of environmental damage is made using a Dutch software named
SimaPro 5.0 based on Eco-indicator 99 and EPS 2000 methods.
This study also includes a detailed analysis about the Environmental Management Systems, ISO 14001 and EMAS II.
