The Alpine soldiers group of Feletto was funded in 1969 and lead by Giovanni Giordano.
Its first godmother was Rita Benedetto, as she was daughter of an Alpine soldier and niece of Domenico Benedetto, who was the first Alpine of the Valcenischia battalion to die at Bramans in June 1940.
A large amount of former Alpine soldiers joined the newly born group, which reached a record number of 200 members.
Thanks to one of its members, Francesco Bonomo, the first Alpine centre was located in via Luigi Chiala. It was then moved to a room in the former primary school. At present this building is being renewed and the group is currently looking for another location.
Since 1970, the Alpine group of Feletto has taken part in every Alpine soldiers' National Meeting.
In June 1987, the members of the group cleaned a very small green-area on the way to the graveyard. Their aim was to create a location for The Monument for the Alpine Soldier and the Tricolour flag. Set into the base of the sculpture, there is a bronze plate whose words are worth remembering:
For the value of the Alpine soldier
in yesterday's sacrifice,
In today's work,
In tomorrow's peace.

Don Adriano De Gennari - a former Alpine soldier and now a priest at the Cottolengo - a religious institute for mentally ill people- was chosen to consecrate the monument. During the unveiling ceremony, the group also gave the nursery and the primary schools of Feletto the Italian tricolour flag. Mrs. Domenica Lanzetta was the godmother of the monument.
In 1996, some members of the group cleaned the garret of the parish church with the help of some other volunteers.
In 1999, the group celebrated its 30th Anniversary by renewing a minor religious site in Feletto and by renaming three streets after three Alpine soldiers. The 'Pilone del Truc' is a 200-years old shrine on the former way to Turin. It used to be the meeting point for merchants who had to go to Turin, but did not want to go on their own, as they feared thieves. Rumour has it that one merchant, on arriving too late to meet his friends, managed to travel to Turin without being assaulted. The group also paid a painter to renew the frescoes in this beloved shrine.
Moreover, the group had to struggle against the authorities to rename three streets, as the regional council would only, at first, allow the renaming of one street in Feletto for all the soldiers who died in the Second World War. The soldiers now giving their name to the streets are: Artillery Alpine soldier Vittorino Tappero (1921-1944) Alpine soldier Antonio Carlevato (1922-1943) Alpine soldier Vincenzo Lanzetta (1912-1943).
The group is currently involved in social and humanitarian projects, following the approval the A.N.A. (the Alpine soldiers National Association). For two years now, the group has helped the Leukaemia Research Fund to raise money through the selling of Christmas flowers.
Recently, the group of Feletto also joined a Caritas project and helped by gathering food, toys and books for African children. Since Caritas is a national charity, the Singers' National Football team and the Drivers' National Football team played a match to help raise money. The A.N.A. was officially thanked for its help during the TV program that followed the match.
It is also worth remembering that two members of the group have been awarded with two silver medals for their outstanding services to the Army in the First World War.
During religious ceremonies, the leader of the group reads the Prayer of the Alpine soldier at the end of the Mass.
The actual leader of the group is Pierluigi Franzino.
