Music Review: MewithoutYou - Brother, Sister Blogcritics.org This review has been a long time in the making. I should have written it a long time ago, but for some reason have been loath to put my thoughts on the subject down on the page. This is not a reflection on the album. Or, if it is, it is a reflection of how staggeringly good I found the disc to be. For some reason, I’ve always found it easy to slate a band. Writing about a disc I thoroughly Music DVD Review: Slipknot - Voliminal: Inside the Nine Blogcritics.org Slipknot has had an interesting journey, a journey that I am not terribly familiar with, outside of the fact that their music keeps getting better. I remember many moons ago when I first picked up that CD with the word "Slipknot" emblazoned across it with those nine guys in masks posing on the cover. I thought it was a decent album, but I quickly moved onto their masked competition, Holiday Music Featured at Senior Center WestportNow Holiday music from various Staples musical groups will be performed at the Westport Center for Senior Activities on Sunday, Dec. 17. Music DVD Review: Paul McCartney - The Space Between US Blogcritics.org There is a moment on this great DVD that sums up the way many of us who grew up with Paul McCartney and the Beatles feel. As a family spanning three generations prepares to go to the concert, "Dad" comments on how McCartney's music has been an influence on his life matched only by that of his family and his religion. Yep. Are influences such as AC/DC and The Rolling Stones immediately obvious in the group's classic rock redux? Absolutely. Music DVD Review: Joe Satriani LIVE! Blogcritics.org Joe Satriani is an absolutely amazing talent. He is more than just speed and riffs - there is a lot of emotion in his playing. This is never more apparent than when you put him in the live setting. His studio recordings are fantastic -- make no mistake about that -- but the concert stage is where the emotion really comes out. Ask just about any performer and they are sure to tell you that being REVIEW / Nostalgia carries 'Jersey Boys' for a while, but show has more than just memories San Francisco Chronicle RATING: (POLITE APPLAUSE) Jersey Boys: Musical. Tickets $ Music Review: The Black Crowes - The Lost Crowes Blogcritics.org The resurgence of The Black Crowes continues with the release of The Lost Crowes , a two-CD set of some slightly new rock ‘n’ roll by The Robinson brothers and their cohorts: guitarist Marc Ford, keyboardist Eddie Harsch, bassist Johnny Colt and drummer Steve Gorman. The discs are divided into The Tall Sessions and The Band Sessions, already well known by devout followers of The Crowes. Classical review Trinity Consort sounds sumptuous The Oregonian The soundtrack of the winter holidays has two essential elements: carols (in myriad arrangements piped through the sound system of every retail establishment) and (in the category of music that people actually intend to hear) music of the Baroque. Music Review: The Zutons - "It's The Little Things We Do" Blogcritics.org What would it take for The Zutons to break into the mainstream? My guess is, not much. However, since mainstream usually means breaking into the American market (at the very least the college charts), it is even money. The Zutons have made themselves present in the alternative scene since 2001, where they have carved a niche as an accomplished indie/soul kind of band. This Liverpudlian band
