A LaVale family of five is homeless after an electrical fire gutted their house Thursday afternoon at 1109 Braddock Road. No one was home when the 2:22 p.m. fire broke out, but firefighters rescued two dogs and four cats and the family has been given temporary shelter at a local motel.
