We built this chessboard in 1991, a few months after the birth of BASTARDO game.
It has been built with 32 glass squares and 32 mirror squares, disposed in a way to represent respectively the white and the black squares.
Each of the four founders decorated, his own way, one of the four 4x4-wide corner of the chessboard. Then, the squares have been placed between two glass slabs and finally into a wooden frame, designed by Roberto and built by a wood-carver.
The "C" corner has its glass squares painted in deep-sea blue,
on which Alessio transcribed some fragment of
C-language programs.
The Temple corner has, on the glass squares, some schematic picture
of Classical-style temples, that Roberto painted
with relaxing sky-blue color.
The Shadow-dancers' corner has been painted by
Sergio with the named kind of dancers, black like
the shadows and with red eyes, in the act of dancing.
The Golden corner has in its glass squares, painted with golden colors,
Paolo's logo.
