Nati a Orange County nel 1990, i Lit sfornano il primo album "Tripping the light fantastic" soltanto nel 1997, dopo una interminabile serie di concerti nei club californiani. L'album imperversa per le College Radio e permette loro di approdare alla RCA per la quale incidono "A place in the sun" nel 1999. Il loro sound è energico, ma molto melodico.
