When I
was writing my article on the Infidels session (ISIS 113) I realised that two
Infidels tapes were not in general circulation.
The 1st
Infidels OTs appeared on "Down in the Flood" LP & CD and on the
"Outfidels" LP but in very poor quality (poor source tapes and the CD
was made from the Vinyl LP). The "Friend to the Martyr (Outfidels)"
CD although having the same cover, as the Vinyl "outfidels" is
actually from the 2nd Infidels OTs.
These
tracks were mastered from my tape of the session. The "work tape"
circulated briefly before the Infidels release, but has never appeared on any
bootlegs as far as I am aware. This tape contains totally different (and
superior) mixes to the official release.

Mystery Tape plus three BoB remixes shn flacf

663 from LK; started 2004-07-12
I was
looking through my collection for various BoB rarities & remixes recently
and realised that these BoB are fairly uncommon. After I had mastered the BoB
tracks I then went looking for some 'filler'. I have often grabbed the odd
track from the 'Mystery Tape" that actually emerged in 1992, so I decided
to master the whole thing properly once and for all, and make the BoB tracks
the filler.
In 1992
the 'Mystery Tape' was a nice little item as quite a few of the tracks were
totally new to collectors. Possibly, this tape was put together for the
purposes of copywriting this material. Anyway, here it is; quite a diverse but
unique tape. NB This tape reportedly finished with 'Shooting Star", but
that one was not on my tape.

This is
the 22nd Show of Bob Dylan's 1984 tour with former Rolling Stones guitarist
Mick
Taylor. A very solid show here is highlighted by the inclusion of "It
Takes a Lot
to
Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry" which is the ONLY time ever played during
this
tour.
I
listened to this on actually the last week of June and I can't remember
specific
details
of the show other than the fact that it is very good quality and performance.
If
someone wants to write a review I'll post it. I'm sure you all are tired of my
endless,
rambling nonsense about the shows, lol.
Also, I
am compiling (as suggested) all of the BEST performances of each song
during
the 1984 tour to create a composite show of the best of all. This will include
every
song played on the tour (43) even if it was played only once but also the best
version
of each performance of each song. So, how about a little feedback. What I
need the
most is the songs played at every venue. There are SO many of those that
it is
hard for one person to listen to them all, so any help would be great!!!
Right
now is the 20th Anniversary of those shows and I thought it would be cool to
release
each show to STG on the date of the actual show plus 20 years. When the
STG
tracker was down it really screwed up getting the shows out on the correct
dates
and we are a little behind but I want to complete the project in context so,
here is
the twenty-second show; only 5 more!!!

Notes
An
excellent performance from one of the few concerts where Simon and Garfunkel
had a full backing band. The whole show was filmed for a TV special, Songs of
America, to air later that November. Due to the political overtones of the show
(not the least of which was the song "Cuba Si - Nixon No"), AT&T
withdrew much of its sponsorship, and only two tracks from the show were aired,
including "Bridge Over Troubled Water."
The
performance is fairly lively, given the likelihood that Paul and Art weren't on
the best of terms, due to Art's increasing interest in screen acting. Many of
the songs from Bridge Over Troubled Water performed at this show were new to
the audience - all but "The Boxer" were unreleased at this point.
This is definitely a show worthy of official release.
