Modern Minstrel

From the original silver cds.  I'm moving up through the years.  I have "The Warfield" next, then "Himself".  I see "Going Down to Arlington" is already out.  Then onward to 1994, because I torrented my only 1993 a while ago.

SilverCd > xAct > FLAC in one fell swoop.  Fingerprint and md5 are included.

One more for my Madrid amigo...

Lineage: DVD+R to HDD > FLAC files decoded to WAV > CoolEdit Pro2000 (checked; see below for FIXED TRACKS) T-RackS v2.0 (overall volume boost: 2.8dB; Tube-Comp (TC) "ON" to reduce harshness and at the same time add a slightly clearer and warmer tone; TC process also adds a "healthy" vibrato; (no other TC adjustments); and no overall EQ on any track! > FLAC frontend (encoded to FLAC; aligned on sector boundaries) > DIME

FIXED TRACKS: 2 tracks needed to be fixed. One had a significant dropout and one had an annoying "tape hump"

Dropout and tape hump details:

DROPUT HAS BEEN REMOVED

(see details on "Tape Humps")

********************************************************

03. Seeing The Real You At Last (dropout: 03:46:813 - 03:47:053)

10. Idiot Wind (1x "large" "tape hump": 04:06:594 - 04:07:596, now removed/NOT AUDIBLE)

Conclusion: Good to excellent set with Dylan doin' his Italian Job in front of a rather exstatic audience...

Notice that setlists at Field Recordings and Bob's Boots are both incorrect.

from Field Recordings:

rmd: Really nice audience recording, bright and warm. The sound may not be quite as upfront as you'd want, and sometimes the vocals are a tad quiet, but the sound is clear and natural, with a truly listenable tone -- no grunge, compression, or echo. A pleasure to listen too. The setlist is extraordinary, and the performance excellent with many highlights.

rmd: Not essential by any stretch, but in no way disappointing.

from Bob's Boots:

Fantastic performance of an extraordinary set list. This is an audience recording, and not quite as close to the mains as one would hope. Sometimes the vocals get a little buried. However, the recording is crisp and a pleasure to listen to. Just like being at the show. The material definitely warrants owning this one.

Info from Björn Krawehl, Germany:

There is also a 15 piece limited edition release from this same company that is digitally remastered. The sound is really great (I would say 9 stars). This concert might be the best I've ever heard (but this is surely a personal taste). The occasion for this limited cd-release seemed to be the 15th annual Bob Dylan collectors Festival, Austria in May, 1994 at Burgschloss Plankenstein. The cds are in a round box with the logo of this festival, titel of the cd and the text "limited edition" I don't want to write a description on every song, but there is a very special version of All Along The Watchtower, which is slowed down a bit, and includes a harp solo! Something I never heard before on a boot.* * Filling up Dylan vaults * * *
