Recorded
on 15th & 26th June 1965, in Hull, Yorkshire, U.K. using a KB domestic
1/4in. recorder with a BSR tape deck, running at a speed of 3.75ips via a line
connection to Rediffusion wired system junction box.
The
recording is in Mono.
Transferred
from original master tape to MiniDisc then to CD-R.
This
tape, while in great quality, came in the wrong speed and needed some work
before it was lisatenable.
Volume,
Speed & pitch corrected in London, U.K. 10th - 12th September 2005 using
CoolEdit Pro 2.0. Some additional remastering including fade-in, fade-outs at
start & end of disc were done. Noise or hiss reduction has not been
performed, in order to best preserve the atmosphere and feel of the original
tape which this can sometimes take away.

Levon
Helm or Bobby Gregg
all info I could find hints to the fact
that Levon quit late November/early December but no exact date is mentioned.
The liner notes of TBS 7 state that
Helm plays drums on the 11-30-65 version of Visions Of Johanna, although MK's
documentation shows Bobby Gregg for
that date (guess who I'll trust ...)
Bob_Fass_1_26_66
Gelston_Acetate_5_27_66
I
just received these in the mail and thought how incredible it would be to post
them
all together. I am taking my info from the Lossless site for the Fass and the
5/27/66
(there's
one slight change on my CD for the 5/27/66 because on Lossless Bob they have
Visions
twice
and Baby Blue twice while the CD I was sent does not have any songs repeating
but does
include
Mr. Tambourine Man which is not even listed so while that is a little strange I
just
did
not want for there to be any more confusion). The person who sent me these
discs also
mentioned
that the Melbourne is the only version w/ Mr. Tambourine Man' (it's a fragment)
and
that this is probably the best source tape and quite possibly even the master
which was
then
transferred from DAT to CD-R. The Bob Fass Show is also quite possibly from the
best
source
tape. ENJOY! I find all of this to be totally incredible especially after
watching
No
Direction Home in Kalamazoo, Michigan on a big screen over the weekend. These
performances
-
yes even the interview with Bob Fass - are otherworldly and not to be missed if
you have
yet
to add these to your collection. I also did some artwork that I've included.
ENJOY! -

here
is the link with the info for the Gelston Acetates and again as I said above
this is not
both
the 26th. and 27th. but just the 27th. The 26th. has officially released
material on it
so I
will not be posting that one.

This
is a cleaned-up version of the torrent seeded yesterday by stanclark.
It
has been repitched and manually declicked to remove a hundred mic bumps and
electrical hits (the start-stop sounds of the taper's machine were retained).
It was balanced to bring channel 1 (which is a bit cleaner) up to par. No EQ or
noise reduction added.
Thanks
again, Stan.
An
"orderly" performance. Time 46:06; most songs are cut short. I
suppose the taper wanted to capture the show on one side of a reel.

Notes:
All tracks normalized. Slight
noise reduction applied. Right
channel superior to left, so right channel info cut&pasted to left (mono
recording). Last, while the
original track division closely resembled Olof's (23 tracks), I grouped them
together into larger units. Dylan
only sings on 5 (at end), 6, 8 & 13.
Track 13 seems to be from a different, inferior source, or perhaps it
was taped at a greater distance.
