Che cos'è Emmaus?

Emmaus è una raccolta di materiali di scarto (vetro, ferro, indumenti, mobili… in una parola roba vecchia) che vengono trasformati in aiuto concreto per varie situazioni di bisogno nel terzo mondo. E’ una raccolta fatta per le strade di Persiceto e tutti possono contribuire lasciando giornali vecchi, bottiglie, lavatrici scassate e quant’altro.

Emmaus è anche un campo di lavoro estivo: due settimane (dal 24 ago al 5 set) da passare insieme girando per le vie sui nostri potenti mezzi, raccogliendo il materiale, aiutando la gente che lo offre, selezionando e distribuendo i carichi nei container del CMP. Si comincia alle 8.30 e si finisce verso le 18, inclusi pranzo e merenda: tutto gratis, non devi pagare niente! Non è necessario iscriversi, quando vuoi puoi venire al CMP (dietro il "Pattinaggio" in fondo, vicino all’"Inapli") dotato di un bel paio di guanti da lavoro.

Puoi contribuire a Emmaus anche così:

• invitando tutti quelli che conosci a provare almeno per una mezza giornata Emmaus;
• ricordando alla tua famiglia e ai tuoi vicini di mettere da parte tutto quanto il materiale per Emmaus.

What's Emmaus?
Emmaus is a waste collection (glass, iron, clothes, furnitures… in a word old stuff) which becomes a real help for various cases of need in the third world. It’s a collection done on the street of Persiceto and everybody can contribute leaving old newspapers, bottles, smashed washing machines and the like at the door.

Emmaus is also a working summer camp: we’ll spend two weeks together going around across the streets on our powerful vehicles, picking up the stuff, helping people who donate it, selecting and distributing it in the containers of the CMP (read /si-em-pi/). Collection starts at 8.30 a.m. and ends at about 6 o’clock p.m., lunch and afternoon snack included: everything free, you haven’t to pay anything! No registration, join us when you like! Come at the CMP (at the back of the skating track, next to "Inapli") with a pair of working gloves.

You can also help Emmaus campaign by:

• inviting your friends to spend half a day at Emmaus;
• reminding your family to put aside the stuff for Emmaus.
