back to The Land Open Project Art Metabolism - by Gertrude Moser-Wagner, Austria, 1998-2000.
My project has been and continues to be influenced by the implications governed by time,
site and possible collaborations. "Artificial Mountains", like other projects of mine,
strives to make a "place" out of a "site" .It addresses time, decomposition, both natural
and cultural waste, surrogate and artificiality by using and reflecting the term "Metabolism."
Thus the clone-discussion can be put into a field of art, the new creations, the quasi-nature
and how this influences our awareness. But art has always been artificial.
It makes us think of a future archeology .
