HOME for 5 PEOPLE
The home rests on two floors: the ground floor holds the double-height
living-room, the kitchen and the dining area; on the up-
per floor, to reach by means of a spiral staircase, are the bed-rooms and
the bathroom. From the living-room one may exit
onto the backyard, through an entirely glazed wall, which is curved and
screenable by means of synthetic shields . The upper
floor is practically rotated at a 90 degree angle with respect to the
ground floor, and turns out to be astride over the two lateral
stone walls.
The most relevant and thrilling (for the kids) aspect of the home, I
believe, is the landing on the upper floor, access to the bed-
rooms, but also studying and working area for two of the three potential
children: two desks with stools are, as a matter of fact,
placed next to the parapet and looking over the living-room below (the
third table with stool is inside the double bed-room). A
similar arrangement of one activity of the kids may be found in the
design of the
the railroad tracks", at the following link:

I believe it is interesting to place studying desks, for the children,
in the access area of the bed-rooms on the upper floor, area
that should hold enough space at least for passing by, and which would
therefore assume characteristics of stimulus and parti-
cipation, as long as the kids are little and in their first years of
school.
On the walkable roof of the building, which one may reach using the
spiral staircase again, are located pools for collecting rain
water, re-usable after purification by the outlets in the house, with
the pressure due to gravity. The double-height part of the liv-
ing-room, moreover, is covered by solar and photovoltaic panels that
should provide electric and thermal energy in a quantity
more than sufficient to meet the needs of the building.
