TV Guide Online: Joining us tonight is actor David Hasselhoff from the Broadway musical, Jekyll & Hyde. Hi David! Thanks for joining us!!!

Hasselhoff: Hello. Hello.

Question: How did you get approached for Jekyll & Hyde?

Hasselhoff: I was actually putting out some feelers when I was in Los Angeles. I really had no desire to go back to Baywatch. I wanted to do something that was in my heart. I wanted to follow a lifelong dream, that was theatre. I talked to my manager and my agent at the time at CAA, that I'm finally available and I can make a commitment to more than a 1 month run. Usually I couldn't get to B-way, cause a series takes up to 8 months to a year.

Question: Will your Jekyll and Hyde performance be on Pay-Per-View soon?

Hasselhoff: There is some talk of putting together a video and shooting it over five nights. Bringing back a lot of the original cast members. They're just starting the negotiations. It would be great if that happened.

Question: Is it hard to sing every night?

Hasselhoff: I thought I was the most amazing singer on the planet until last Friday night, when I opened my mouth and nothing came out. Everyone warned me that doing Broadway is fantastic on stage, but you have to live like a monk during the other 21 and 1/2 hours. I actually was entertaining Lou Rawls after the show and we had an understudy playing Lucy, a girl by the name of Brittany. Who was singing her heart out, she's African American with a huge voice. I was doing vocal wars with her on stage. It was the end of a long week where I had my opening night, ET, the View, Extra, and Howard Stern, so I was kind of primed for the burnout and at the end of the show, Friday night, I had no voice. Sat, I spent at the famous throat doctor.

Hasselhoff: If you want to meet any famous celebs in town, go to the throat doctor. He fixed me up, gave me some magic Dr. Jekyll potions and I was able to get through the next two performances. I've learned now that I really need to rest my voice, I have cut down considerably the amount of talking I do. After the show...

Question: What do you plan to do after Jekyll and Hyde?

Hasselhoff: Right now I'm in negotiations to bring back Knight Rider as a motion picture. and also I'm talking with my partners on Baywatch about maybe coming back for a two hour episode of Baywatch. I think the first week after Jekyll and Hyde I will do nothing but party.

Question: Would you like to do any other Broadway shows?

Hasselhoff: Yes. The point of this whole journey was to fulfill my dream but also to prove to the Broadway community that I could hack it. I'm getting interest in other shows. We're also looking into performing Jekyll and Hyde in other countries. It would be an amazing adventure to perform it in China.

Question: How did you get started singing?

Hasselhoff: When I was 7 years old I saw a play called Rumplestilskin. I told my parents it looked like fun. I auditioned for community plays. I got into Peter Pan, realized I could sing and then realized I wanted to go to Broadway. I studied voice, got into a children's theatre. I really prepared for theatre. Never prepared or desired a television or film career. As fate would have it, I ended up in California. It's taken me a while, and now I'm back doing what I want to do.

Question: David, How are your wife and daughters are they in New York with you?

Hasselhoff: They are awesome. My wife is amazing. She managed to move the entire family here. Get them in school and is still meeting me at the theatre every night. Just to hang with her husband. I must say it was not an easy task being married to me. But she really has come through like a champion to help me fulfill my dream. My daughters were given the choice. If you don't like the school, you don't have to stay. You don't have to be here with daddy, cause I don't want to disrupt your friends and emotions. Surprisingly, they love it here. They're not ready to go back. So they are in school now. We're here until the end of the show, January 7th. We'll probably stay through the rest of the year and enjoy New York. Unless work dictates otherwise, you never know. Hawaii might be calling.

Question: Mr. Hasselhoff, you are very popular in Germany. Will there come a new release of an album ? Maybe another song in German like "Du" or " Wir zwei allein heut Nacht" ?

Hasselhoff: Yes. I am coming out with a bilingual album that is in English and Spanish. I'm completing a track in NY and Miami. I'm entertaining song offers from Germany and here. So that I can truly make it a worldwide album. I can never desert my roots from Austria, Switzerland and Germany. Every night, I look out and see a legion of German fans and it really gets me charged up to go on tour. I have the time, the energy and my vocal chops have never, ever been better. I'm a heartbeat away from coming out again.

Question: Do you prefer singing or acting? 

Hasselhoff: The part that I'm doing now is the ultimate part of all time, where I'm able to do both. Not only do I get to act as Jekyll, I get to act as Hyde. I get to sing as both characters as well. That is the greatest.

Question: I love your music! Since you have a new album coming out in the United States soon, will you be doing a U.S. tour in the near future?

Hasselhoff: Right now we're finishing the album. I'm hoping to do a tour. I'm going to hang in New York. Maybe hang with the guys who have done the Jekyll's...between me, Robert Evan, Robert Cuccioli and Sebastian Bach. I'm doing this interview and I'm backstage. I've never been where the different actors are and all the Christmas lights. This is fun.

Question: Other then This is the Moment, what song from Jekyll and Hyde would you consider recording on one of your CD's?

Hasselhoff: That's a good question. I think "Take Me as I Am" is a wonderful duet. I'm kind of "This is the Moment"ed out. I'm actually recording it right now in Spanish. And it goes Oy, Es O dia. This is the Day. Right now, I'm looking at more of the Latino flavor songs as there is a huge untapped market that we did a test in and my music in Spanish was very very well received. I'm actually writing songs with friends and translating into Spanish.
