The set where the photos of this article has been taken, is strange for David Hasselhoff. The audience of the whole world are used to watching him in the red swimsuit of Mitch Buchannon, the protagonist of "Baywatch", the most charming lifeguard of the American television. After years of honorable service on Malibu beaches, in California, the actor, also producer of the TV-series, is trying to change his imagine. "I'm actually acting since 1989 in swimsuit, I feel tired and perhaps also a few out-of-date to go on acting as a lifeguard", says the actor who grew a pair of short moustaches and a beginning of pointed beard, in the latest fashion of Hollywood. " But it's sure that I don't want to retire, since, acting and singing are the jobs I love more. Last year I changed agent, and now I'm always more engaged on several sets, around the world".

Once of his most recent set is the one of Quarzazate in Morocco, 200 Kilometers far from Casablanca, here the star of "Baywatch" has found another kind of sable, the one of the desert, where he shot "Shaka Zulu-The Citadel", a mini-series with Omar Sharif, another actor with an irresistible charm, James Fox, Karen Allen and Grace Jones. "The story is very involving and adventurous", tells David, "And follow the life of Shaka, an Zulu warlike prince, who in the last century reigned over a land as wide as Europe. My character is Mungo, a slave, charming trader. Karen Allen, who is in Africa to search his father, an English officer, falls in love with him, and tries in all ways to persuade him to free his slaves. I must admit that I've enjoyed myself very much, above all because I learnt again to ride horses and camels".

Once he ended to shoot, his wife reached him and they realized a dream: a romantic escape (without the two daughters remained in America with the grandparents), an exotic and thrilling holiday, a second honey moon, starting from Kenya. "We spent unforgettable days, we visited places seen only in the documentaries, met total different people. We immersed in different cultures, breathed new air, filled our eyes with incredible lights and colors, in our noses there are scents unknown before. We was near animals seen in the zoo or on television. I'll never forget the warm welcome in the Masai reservation, where I knew I'm popular, since "Baywatch" is broadcasted also in that country. Some of the most incredible experience, have been a ride among the rhinoceros, a trip in the Masai natural park, and a flight on a biplane, during which we risked to loose the muzzle of our plane. We were immersed in a spectacular nature, and sometimes it was like living on the set of "La mia Africa". Pamela liked the rhinoceros, I liked more the elephants, who are always in movement. I and my wife remained enchanted by the magic of this continent, and we promised to get back soon, perhaps in the occasion of my new film "The Diamond Hunter", which has to be shot also in Namibia". David and Pamela are one of the closest couples of Hollywood. There are always more couples that divorce: (such as Bruce Willis and Michael Douglas), but they are for ten years one of the rare examples of happiness and marital fidelity. Loved husband, model father and cheered star, David seems to be favored by destiny. Even if he is envied by million of TV-watchers, for all those half-naked and wonderful girls, who work with him everyday. Hasselhoff has never given in to the temptation of adventures. On the contrary on the set he is so severe that he has already fired 5 girls, since they were too sexy and forward. Now, between one series and the other of "Baywatch", David, besides his film in Namibia, based on a Wilbur Smith's book, is going to begin the recording of "Iceman", a thriller set in Canada. He would like also to realize his dream of acting in a musical. As many other TV and cinema actors, also David is looking forward to performing on the stage.
