LOS ANGELES (AP) - Mike Myers is as happy as a little girl. The actor has reached a deal with two movie studios that dissolves three lawsuits so he can move ahead with a movie based on his ``Saturday Night Live'' character Dieter.
Though details of the agreement were not disclosed, Myers said in a statement Thursday he will write his comedy as a ``co-production'' for Universal Studios and DreamWorks SKG, with Imagine Entertainment producing.
"I'm glad to put all of this behind me and I'm looking forward to doing a movie that we can all be proud of," said Myers, who created the character of Dieter (pronounced DEET-er), the slick-haired German host of a techno-pop dance show called "Sprockets."
Myers had backed away from the movie, saying the script needed work, and Universal Pictures sued in June for $3.8 million plus lost profits. Then, in July, Imagine Entertainment sued for more than $30 million alleging Myers reneged on an agreement to write, produce and star in the film.
Days later, the "Austin Powers"' star countersued Universal Pictures. Myers sought $20 million for invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress, claiming that a process server for the studio chased him "in a threatening manner down dark, winding and unlit streets."
The movie had been slated to begin shooting this month with Will Ferrell and David Hasselhoff and a June 2001 release.
