Relax, ``Baywatch'' fans. David Hasselhoff isn't packing away his red swim trunks yet. Just last week, the star and executive producer of ``Baywatch'' was talking about leaving the show to do musicals. But now Variety reports he's signed up for three more years on the syndicated series, which is one of the most-watched TV shows in the world. Production on the ninth season of ``Baywatch'' is set to begin in June.

Scratch those reports about David Hasselhoff's dropping his Speedos. The beefy beach boy has signed a three-year contract to continue as the star and executive producer of TV's "Baywatch," it was announced Monday. The contract keeps him with the show until 2001. "Beyond its entertainment value, 'Baywatch' has enriched and, in many cases, helped save lives," said Hasselhoff, who last week was quoted in the European press as saying he was ready to retire from the hugely popular series. "I'm looking forward to the opportunity to continue with a project which has had such significance for so many," he added.

HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - Good news for ``Baywatch'' connoisseurs: David Hasselhoff has signed on for three more years as star and executive producer of the beach'n'bikini series.
Production on season nine of ``Baywatch'' is set to begin in June. The syndicated series has lost some of its luster, ratings-wise, in recent years, but it remains one of the world's best-known U.S. TV exports, airing in 110 countries.
The action-drama series bowed on NBC in 1989 and was picked up by All American Television for syndication in 1990. Hasselhoff also starred in a spinoff, ``Baywatch Nights,'' that lasted two seasons.

He made his comments while on a publicity tour in the Czech Republic. Hasselhoff is a singing star in Europe and says he wants to go from playing a lifeguard to roles in musical productions like "Phantom of the Opera" and "Hair."

Baywatch star David Hasselhoff, who attended elementary school in Jacksonville, will sing the national anthem before tomorrow's Jacksonville Jaguars-Philadelphia Eagles game at Alltel Stadium.
When he's not appearing in the syndicated Baywatch, which is seen in 140 countries and has been called the most popular television show in the world, Hasselhoff has a flourishing singing career in Europe.
Hasselhoff, who was born in Baltimore, lived with his parents in Jacksonville's Arlington and Holly Oaks Forest neighborhoods and attended Christ the King Catholic School in the late 1950s and early 1960s. While here, he began his acting career, performing in children's theater.
His assistant, Cary Kwasizur, said Hasselhoff accepted the invitation to sing the anthem because he has become an enthusiastic Jaguars fan.

After doing duets with Paul Anka and Hong Kong singer Jacky Cheung, Regine Velasquez now sings with David Hasselhoff (of Baywatch and Knight Rider), in a duet that will be included in David's new album.
"David is big in Europe, especially in Germany," says Regine. "He also wants to make it here in Asia so he asked Polygram, his recording company, if they could suggest any Asian singer who can do a duet with him. Since I'm also with Polygram, they sent him my CDs and he liked them. So they sent me a song he has recorded at idinugtong na lang doon ang part ko. Last month, I was asked to go to L.A. so we can film the music video for the song. Doon ko pa lang siya na-meet in person. I told him I've had a big crush on him since I saw him in Knight Rider. He said, 'Oh, do I still look the same?' And I said, 'You look even better today'. He was very nice and even introduced me to his wife, who's also very accommodating".
Janno Gibbs, Regine's leading man in the fantasy comedy, Honey, Nasa Langit Na Ba Ako?, chides her.
"Hindi ka na maabot," he says. "Kung sinu-sino nang international stars ang nakaka-duet mo".
"But there's one thing I'll never forget," says Regine. "Ikaw pa rin ang unang naka-duet ko in 'Magkasuyo Buong Gabi'".
Watch out for Janno and Regine when they start promoting their movie on TV as they will be dishing out some unforgettable duet numbers.

David said that Baywatch is going back to the roots of the show. David's character "Mitch Buchannon" would be getting married on the show this year and will stay married. He said she won't be killed off like all the other girls he has gotten involved with.

On Thursday, June 5, 1997 Entertainment Tonight showed a short interview with David Hasselhoff and his co-star Lisa Rinna, from the made for tv movie "Nick Fury", a movie based on a popular comic book hero. The movie is currently being filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. David Hasselhoff looked different than in the movies and tv shows we have seen him in. As Nick Fury, his brown curls have been closely cropped, and he sports a heavy 5 o'clock shadow. He wears an eye-patch over his left eye, and has the butt of a cigar clamped between his teeth.
Wearing a matching black leather jacket, pants, and biker gloves, he joked around with Lisa, and growled a message to make sure you watch the upcoming movie. He was shown preparing for a fight scene, and doing karate kicks, as well as clowning around the set. From the looks of it I'd say this will be a must-see movie for all David Hasselhoff fans. The airdate will be announced at a later date.

The live-action film based on the MARVEL character Nick Fury and the secret government organization S.H.I.E.L.D. (Supreme Headquarters International Espionage Law-Enforcement Division) stars David Hasselhoff (Baywatch) in the title role, as well as Lisa Rinna (Melrose Place) as agent Valentina Allegro de Fontaine, and Sandra Hess (Mortal Kombat) as the evil Viper. FURY is being directed by Rod Hardy (The Buffalo Girls).
