Jul 28, 2002 Baywatch Film set for September shoot!
by Tim Ryan - Starbulletin

The Baywatch reunion film production already delayed three times in less than a year is schedulded to shoot on Oahu from September 9th, to 27th, 2002.
The $5 Million, two-hour movie of the week had been tentatively titled "Baywatch Obsession", but no longer. No title has been given, but it will contain "Hawaii". The Movie will be released durning the February 2003 ratings sweeps.
The earlier delays have not been because of David Hasselhoff´s publicized trouble with alcohole abuse, Pamela Anderson´s hepatitis C condition or Yasmine Bleeth´s drug conviction in Michigan earlier this year, sources emphasized. The hoped-for July or August filming was called off because there were no available rooms on Oahu for cast and mainland crew due to the crush of summer visitors.
The show is being written for Fox Television by Michael Berk, a "Baywatch" creator, along with Doug Schwartz and his wife, Deborah Schwartz, a supervising producer on that Show. The Storyline is described as "Baywatch" meets "Temptation Island" and "Survivor".
Producers have signed six of the primary cast and remain in negotiations with 12 others, sources said. Filming was to begin here last fall, then was bumped to this summer to ensure completion in time for November sweeps. The entire Film will be shot in Oahu. At least one scene here will double for California. Executive producer Doug Schwartz and other "Baywatch" executives will scout Oahu locations next week and finalize a deal with the Hilton Hawaiian Village for accomodations. The resort also was the hotel of choice of the "Baywatch Hawaii" production. Producers will also visit the Hawaii Film Studio, with plans to use the mill for constructing sets, and the swim tank, which has been unused since "Baywatch Hawaii" departed two years ago. Schwartz and company were not part of the "Baywatch Hawaii" production and it´s executive producer, Greg Bonann, is not part of this show. Also committed to the project are Carmen Electra and Kelly Packard.
Hasselhoff, 50, made news last month by checking himself into the Betty Ford Center for treatment of alcoholism. Hasselhoff will be finished with rehab by August 1st, 2002, "well in advance of the filming", a production source sayd.
After shooting to fame opposite a talking Trans Am in "Knight Rider", Hasselhoff became a worldwide sensation as "Baywatch´s" head Lifeguard, Mitch Buchanan.
He left "Baywatch" at the end of the 1999-2000 season to launch a new syndicated series, "Double Cross". But just month after Hasselhoff was blown to bits on his "Baywatch" finale, the financing fell through on "Double Cross" and that show was scrapped. The actor will be an executive producer with Revelution Studios on a film adaptation of "Knight Rider" with the series´ creator Glen Larson, who is writing the script.

David Hasselhoff in Rehab
Mon Jul 8, 7:55 PM ET (E! Online)
By Marcus Errico

David Hasselhoff is battling alcohol abuse.
In a brief release Monday, his spokeswoman confirms TV's favorite lifeguard has entered rehab. "David Hasselhoff has checked himself into the Betty Ford Center. He realized his social drinking had increased more than he was comfortable with, and he decided to do something about it," publicist Judy Katz says in the statement.
Katz did not address last week's National Enquirer that claimed the former Baywatch star, who turns 50 on July 17, had nearly died from alcohol poisoning during a binge last month.
According to the supermarket tabloid, Hasselhoff had entered the Betty Ford Center, located outside Palm Springs, California, in late June only to check himself out two days later. At about 10:30 p.m. on June 25, he turned up--with no luggage--at the Desert Springs Marriott Resort and Spa in nearby Palm Desert and got himself a room, according to the paper.
The following day, hotel staffers reportedly found him unconscious in his room next to an empty minibar. Paramedics were able to revive the actor, according to the Enquirer, and rushed him to emergency room at Eisenhower Medical Center, where he was treated for alcohol poisoning and then returned to the Betty Ford Center. His wife, Pam, was said to have flown out from Los Angeles to be by his side.
"Thank God they got to my son when they did. If they hadn't, he would have died!" the paper quotes Hasselhoff's father Joe as saying.

[Yahoo News - July 8, 2002]

Today, 17 July, is David's 50th Birthday, he is still in the rehab center and do celebrate his birthday at home with his family only when he is back at home.

Apr 4, 2002 'Baywatch' reunion movie airs November

HONOLULU (AP) - Baywatch star David Hasselhoff's stalled reunion movie of the lifeguard television drama has hit smooth sailing.
"We've got a TV movie for Fox," Hasselhoff said Sunday. "It's a two-hour (show) that'll air in (November) sweeps. ... Right now we're trying to put the pieces together to bring it to Hawaii."
Hasselhoff, the movie's producer, said the cast will feature 20 actors from the Baywatch and Baywatch Hawaii shows.
"It's basically just kind of an opportunity to get everybody together and have some fun here in Hawaii," he said. Hasselhoff hopes to begin three weeks of filming on July 8.
Last October, Hasselhoff said he was having trouble assembling the cast for the movie. At the time, a Fox network representative said the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks had caused problems with travel and hotel deals.
The original Baywatch series was filmed in Los Angeles for nine years before relocating to Hawaii and getting a new name in 1998. Hasselhoff made only occasional appearances after the move, and the series was cancelled in February 2001.

Mar 21, 2002 "Knight Rider": The Movie!

World Entertainment News Network - David Hasselhoff is getting ready to make some Knight moves again. Revolution Studios is gearing up to revive Knight Rider--NBC's cult hit 1980's action series featuring Hasselhoff as the titular crimefighter aided by his trusty talking Trans Am K.I.T.T.--for a potential big-screen franchise. Hasselhoff is on board to executive produce the flick with series creator Glen Larson. There's no word yet what kind of screen time, if any, Hasselhoff will have. Hasselhoff has been trying to jumpstart the project for a while. Last September, he told E! Online, "I'm really excited about it. We're working hard to get it off the ground." When Hasselhoff first started shopping the new Knight Rider around, it was reported that his character, Michael Knight, would be a supporting player, acting as mentor to a new generation of younger (and presumably hotter) operatives. A Revolution spokesperson, however, says the story still needs to be hashed out and the stars need to be cast.
