What characteristics should a currency have?
- utility: it has a high intrinsic value
- steady value: it has always more or less the same value
- divisible: it keeps its unitary value even in a small amount
- inalterable: it keeps its physical characteristics through time
- transferable: easily to handle
- it can be easily minted (to make coins)
