The unit illustrates a project for a column in reinforced concrete to its ultimate limit for normal strain, according to Italian methodology as indicated in the Ministry Law of 18.01.2008.

Calculations related to slender elements are not taken into consideration here.

Here is a synthesis of the specific objectives:

• Remote teaching to compensate for linking problems (eg. means of transport) or moving difficulties (eg. handicapped people);
• Real time transmission of technologically innovative contents to overcome the slow pace in using traditional methods such as books or manuals: the New Technical Law on reinforced concrete dates back to 1996 but so far it has been difficult to find information on the new items introduced with it;
• Substituting the traditional approach based on a hierarchical structure of knowledge with methodologies developed on key-concepts and web-paths (hyper-texts language);
