As I mentioned elsewhere on my blog, when I'd gotten the DEXTER job from DC, I did't feel comfortable drawing the characters "on model". So, I played around with their looks, I unearthed these this morning, my take on Dexter's parents

these were painted for Dexter's Lab (created by Genndy Tartacoughsky) when Dave Smith (genius creator i was hired on Johnny Bravo before i gave Dexter's Lab the finger it so deserved - i'll never forget that because it felt SO GOOD!
