MailGet

What is MailGet?

Mailget is a poor men's replacement of fetchmail, written in perl, that lets you selectively download your e-mail messages. It is particularly useful on slow internet connections (such as dial-up 56K), where every byte saved is quite an year of life more. It supports both POP3 and IMAP4 mailboxes and also SSL sockets.
