The following six species = the dicolorus
superspecies. Most hybridize to varying degrees
where they meet or overlap. R. citreolaemus,
R. culminatus and R. vitellinus are often treated as conspecific.
The name "R. osculans" represents a population
with unstable characters where the ranges of culminatus and vitellinus
meet and interbreed.

and Amazonian Brazil. Includes inca from the upper Río Beni,
Bolivia. R. cuvieri often lumped with tucanus, but hybridization
between them seems to be limited.
