        Ortalis cinereiceps  GREY-HEADED CHACHALACA.  Thickets, second growth, humid forest.  Lowlands to 1100 m in e Honduras, e,c Nicaragua, Costa Rica (exc. nw), Panama incl. Isla del Rey in the Pearl Is. and nw Colombia from Chocó s to upper Atrato Valley.
        Ortalis garrula  CHESTNUT-WINGED CHACHALACA.  Tropical thickets, scrubby deciduous forest, dense second growth, arid scrub, riparian woods, mangroves.  Lowlands to 800 m of n Colombia, e of range of O. cinereiceps, from upper Sinú Valley e to foothills of Santa Marta Mts., and s to lower Cauca Valley and middle Magdalena Valley, probably to the range of O. ruficauda, but no evidence they hybridize.
