Note that ES1371 ES1373 are rather generic drivers used by Creative, Ensoniq and others. You need to determine the exact drivers. Often the easiest way to do that is to go to Start > Run then enter: dxdiag

And my soundcard information is AudioPCI (ES1371,ES1373)(WDM). My internet browser is Mozilla Firefox Version 1.0.4 I'm guessing the issue must be with my sound card, but I understand that it could be something completely different.

i am just unable to find what the exact problem is ,there is no audio but when login it will be ther for 5 to 10 min only intel desktop board 810e inbuilt sound creative es1373 i hope there will be responce soon

One is a Ensonique Creative Audio PCI (ES1371, ES1373)(WDM), but that one is on the motherboard itself and its ancient, so I installed Soundblaster Live 5.1 and rebuilt Ubuntu with the SB card in place. Now, I still don't have sound.
