OK, now would you consider the M-Audio 1010LT a single device with multiple channels? Apparently Audacity 1.3 sees it So would you say the conclusion is Audacity cannot record the multiple sources coming from the Delta 1010LT then?

Sorry, I don't know what's going on there. Have you tried other audio apps to see if the M-Audio presents itself in the same way? You could try the free multitrack recorder Kristal Audio Engine (http://www.kreatives.org/kristal/) and

If you look at Audio I/O in Preferences, you'll see that you can select up to 16 channels in the Recording device settings, suggesting that the six channels from your M-Audio should be possible

I have tried with ProTools 7 Demo version and it sees all the M-Audio inputs and outputs and allows the multiple inputs as I wish, except it's a demo version and does not save your work. Is there a way to know if Audacity will allow

Ah, but recording from separate devices is a different matter than recording multiple channels - Audacity can't "look" at more than one recording source at a time (although the playback device can be different).

Thanks for your fast answer. I tried that out already but while Audacity seems to accept selecting more than 2 channels, as soon as I select more than 2 recording channels, it goes on error when clicking record button.

hi ya when im when im mointering/recording its all in mono so channal 1 is in the left channl 2 is in the right ext but when i do playback its in stereo how can i moniter in stereo? i was thinking of sending all 9 outs into a rack
