live update norton anti virus??
i don't know if i should post here or in software?? but here goes. last week i did a live update and there were 26 d/l's and 26 installs. then i did one later in the week and there were the same numbers and so i decided to do one again

the program in question is norton utilities 2002 and it is long gone from the pc. (no other versions of nu are on the pc either.) question: how can i remove nu 2002 from the live update programs list?

if i try to remove liveupdate 3.0, it complains about already having other apps already registered to use it. i have nav 2006 and norton save&restore installed. do i need to uninstall nav & save&restore before uninstalling liveupdate

I remember in the recent past trying to rid of Norton and what a mess, My guess is that in trying to remove Norton and not getting all the pieces out, Use regedit to remove all traces of Norton, then reinstall (if you wish)

thanks peter149, another satisfied customer. i had weeks of struggling with liveupdate stalling and unable to rid of it. and dowloaded different updates to the norton software on three occasions but unfortunately on the last update,

i post this b/c last week when i did my live update it showed 26 and i did it today i did another live update and again 26 and about 10 minutes later i up from the task bar shows that everything with norton in the system is ok?
