px-755sa and asus p4c800-e deluxe
it seems that my asus p4p800-se and px-755sa combination is not goot. i get very low writing rates (~14x for cds and less than 1x for dvds). plextools reports the same rates when running the writing test. the plextor compatibility page

UDMA2 and UDMA5 ODD on same controller
at significantly different UDMA modes to the same IDE controller? I currently have a Plextor PX-W4824 CD-R/RW and a Toshiba SD-M1712 DVD-ROM operating on my ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe secondary IDE controller. Both drives are UDMA

extension cable. about 2 months later, after quite a few usb glitches, the usb on my asus p4c800-e deluxe crapped out. so, asus replaced my motherboard (unfortunately with a much cheaper p4p800-e deluxe, but that is another story!
