Program 2.1.
THE CARPATHIANS AND THE BLACK SEA
11-day Journey by Plane
1st Day Home Bucharest – Mamaia
We land with the flight lines of LH, meeting with our romanian guide at the Bucharest Otopeni Airport. From here we drive with a modern bus (air conditioning, bar, toilette) to Mamaia. The treatment beach resort is 268 km to the east away from Bucharest and we reach it at around 18.00 o'clock. Then we arrive at the hotel from the Black-Sea-coast D/O/B.
2nd Day Mamaia
For the curious guests, we organize today a half-day excursion to visit all the resorts and treatment places from the Black Sea Coast. After that we visit Constanta and we begin in Costinesti with the visit of the beach of the students. After that, we see the resorts of Olimp, Neptun, Jupiter, Saturn and we end our trip in Mangalia. Here we will visit also the oldest mosque from Romania (15th Century) D/O/B
3rd Day Mamaia
Today we can take a bath or visit the City Constanta in the vicinity. In the evening, as a change, we invite the guests to a folklore evening. The dance and music, the specialties from the romanian cooking art and the wine and palinka describe the romanian atmosphere. Price per person 20 EUR; D/O/B.
4th Day Mamaia
Today we organize a day-trip into the Danube-Delta. In the morning, departure from the hotel, so that we arrive at 10.00 o'clock in Tulcea. From here we sail with the ship through the Danube canals, to see the fishermen villages and the Pelican-Reservation of the Fortune Lake. The warm lunch is served on the ship. In the evening, at 20.00 o'clock, we are back again at the hotel. Price per person 30 EUR (at least 15 participants) D/O/B.
5th Day Mamaia
After the exhausting past days, the guests have free time today. They can take a bath in the Sea or visit the resort. D/O/B
6th Day Mamaia - Bucharest - Predeal
In the morning, after breakfast, we drive to Bucharest. Here we have in the programme a city tour. The objects of interest, which we will visit, are: the Patriarchal Church, the Village Museum, the Palace of the Parliament (the second largest building in the world after the Pentagon) as well as also many other sights. In the first part of the afternoon, we drive to the north, into the mountains, to Predeal. D/O/B
7th Day Predeal
Today we are in the middle of the Carpathian Mountains, in the ski resort Predeal. The city Predeal counts over 30,000 inhabitants and is very visited in the winter as well as in the summer. Although today is the day of some free time, we can make some things like a swim party in the overcast pool of the hotel, a walking tour to the mountain cottage "Trei Brazi" or a visit of the town. For the active guests there is a the cable railway to bring them on the top of the Bucegi mountains. D/O/B.
8th Day Predeal - Sinaia - Predeal
In the morning we drive nearby, to the city Sinaia. Here we visit the Castle Peles, that was built by the first romanian king in bavarian style. The Castle was the summer residence of the Royal Family of Hohenzollern. Nearby we see the monastery of Sinaia, which once gave the name of the city. The monks from the Sinai peninsula came here in the 16th century and built over the time a beautiful monastery. In the evening, we organize (optional) dinner at the restaurant "Casa Taraneasca", where, next to the romanian specialities, we can hear gipsy music (13 EUR). D/O/B.
9th Day Predeal - Brasov - Predeal
For today, we have in the programme the visit of the largest city from Transilvania. With its over 300,000 inhabitants, Brasov is also the second strongest industrial city of Romania. We visit here the old town, with its city hall and the Black Church, the largest gothical building of Eastern Europe. In the afternoon we drive to the north to visit the church castles of Harman and Prejmer. These were for centuries important points of the defence system of Brasov. In the afternoon we drive up to Poiana Brasov to visit another ski resort of Romania. D/O/B.
10th Day Predeal - Moeciu - Predeal
In the morning, we drive towards Bran to visit the castle. It lays in the southern part of Transylvania and was for centuries at the border zone between Transylvania and Valachia. The castle is also known as Castle Dracula. For lunch (optional), we are expected in Moeciu. We will get there by horse vehicles, that will bring us through narrow ways up into the mountains. There we will get an entirely rustic lunch like our grandmothers once upon a time used to serve. Wine and hard liquor is obviously also included (price per person 15 EUR). D/O/B.
11th Day Predeal – Bucharest Frankfurt
After breakfast, we drive to Bucharest. Here we can make another short city tour and then we drive to the airport. Here we say goodbye to our guide who has accompanied us the entire trip.

Program 2.2.
THE MONASTERIES OF MOLDAvia AND THE CASTLE CHURCHES FROM TRANSYLVANIA
8-Day Journey by plane
1st Day Home - Bucharest - Predeal
In the afternoon we arrive Bucharest Otopeni. We are here expecteded by the romanian guide and we drive further to the north. We travel about two hours through the Prahova Valley and we arrive in Predeal, the largest city form the mountains of Romania. D/O/B. Hotel Orizont 3*
2nd Day Predeal
In the morning, we will visit the monastery Sinaia that was constructed from monks from the Sinai peninsula who also gave the name of this city. After that we will see the Castel Peles that was constructed as summer residence of the royal family Hohenzollern, in Bavarian style. In the afternoon we drive to Transylvania and we will visit the castle Bran that is also known as castle Dracula. After the visit, over Risnov we reach Brasov, that is the largest city from Transylvania. We can see here the Black Church, that is the largest gothic building in Easten of Europe. In the evening we are invited in the restaurant "Cabana Trei Brazi", where we will learn something about the specialty of the romanian kitchen and we will hear romanian gipsy music. O/B. 3rd Day Brasov - Cimpulung Moldovenesc
In the morning we drive through the most eastern part of Transylvania, through Szekler county, where the largest part of descent hungarian population is living. We drive trough the Carpathian Mountains to the Lacu Rosu (red lake) past by the Bicaz gorge into the Moldau. From here we drive further to the north into the Bucovina. On the way we visit one of the biggest nun monasteries of Europe, the monastery Agapia, with over 1000 nuns. D/O/B. Hotel Zimbru 2*
4th Day Tour of the monasteries
We begin the tour of the monasteries with the nun monastery Moldovita, where the mother Tatijana will introduce us into the life of the orthodox monasteries. In the same time we're getting a lot of information about the exterior wall paintings of this monastery. The trip goes now further over the Obcina-Mare-mountain to the monastery Sucevita, which is the only monastery from the Bucovina where the painting is intact on the north wall. In the vicinity is the ceramic centre Marginea where black ceramic is still produced using the old technology. In the afternoon we will see the monastery Voronet, which is coloured in blue, the "Capella Sixtina" of the Romanian ortodox believe. In the evening we are invited to the Wood Museum from Cimpulung Moldovenesc, where a folklore program with a good meal and a drink is planed. D/O/B. Hotel Zimbrul 2*
5th Day Cimpulung Moldovenesc – Tirgu Mures
Today we cross again the Carpathian Mountains and drive past at the Dracula hotel in the morning. Here is the region where, the legend says that the Count Dracula, the Vampire would have lived. First, we will visit the city Bistrita, the one of the seven castles that also gave the name of the province and the Protestant church, that was built in the 14th century from the citizens of Transylvanian saxon. The guild flags have can be been seen in the church, exactly like century ago. In the afternoon we drive over Reghin to Tirgu Mures. Here we will visit the orthodox Cathedral, the largest from Romania. D/O/B. Hotel Continental 3*
6th Day Tirgu Mures – Sibiu
In the morning we visit the city Sighisoara, that has been always compared with Salzburg (Austria). The sights of the city are the old Clock Tower, the birthplace of the Count Dracula and the mountain church. Sighisoara is also one of the seven castles, which gave the name of the province. Further we visit Biertan, that has been for centuries the residence of the Protestant Bishop of Transilvania. Here we will see the large church, that rage over the entire village. We drive further through the Tarnava Valley and we will arrive in Medias, where we will visit the Margareth Church, that has the highest clock tower from Romania. In the afternoon we drive through many saxon villages, from which the most important are Axente-Sever and Slimnic. In the evening we are invited to the mountain farmers in Sibiel to visit the Glass Icon museum. In the end we will go at their home and have dinner and also some drinks, like it the good, old grandmothers times. O/B. Hotel Continental 3*
7th Day Sibiu - Bucharest
In the morning, we will visit Sibiu. Here lives the largest number of the German speaking minority from Romania. The sights that we have in the program are the Catholic Church constructed from Maria – Theresa, the Protestant cathedral, the residence of the bishops from Romania and also the Palace Bruckental, where we can find the most valuable art collection from Romania. In the afternoon we drive over the Red Tower Pas into Valachia, in order to arrive later Bucharest. On the way we stop and visit the Cozia Monastery, which is the oldest in our program. In the evening, in Bucharest, we will have dinner in an open air restaurant. O/B. Hotel Parc 3*
8th Day Bucharest - Home
During the morning we will make a city tour to be acquainted with the capital. That sight which we will visit are the Patriarch Church, the village museum, the Palace of the Parliament, the second largest building of the world after the Pentagon. At noon time, we drive to the airport Otopeni from where we will fly back home.

2nd Day Danube Delta
Trip with the ship into the Danube Delta. We sail in the morning on the main canal Sulina to the canal Mile 36. From here to the Nebunu and Fortune lake through the narrow canals of the Danube Delta. Lunch on board is included. In the afternoon we are back again in Tulcea. D/O/B H. Delta 3
3rd Day Tulcea - Predeal
In the morning trip through Dobrogea to Giurgeni. Then over the Danube into the Valachia. Finally, through the Prahova Valley until we reach the mountains in Predeal. D/O/B H. Orizont 3*
4th Day Predeal
In the morning we visit the Peles castle from Sinaia, the summer residence of the Romanian royal family of the Hohenzollern. After that, we drive to the castle Bran, that is also known as the castle Dracula. At noon, city tour in Brasov, the largest city of Transylvania. We will visit first the Black Church (largest gothic sacral building from Eastern Europe), the old city hall, and also the orthodox church from the old town. In the evening, festive meal with folklore program in R. Cabana Trei Brazi from Predeal. O/B H. Orizont 3*.
5th Day Predeal - Suceava
In the morning we drive toward north, through the Szekler country. Short stop by the saxon churche castles Harman or Prejmer, that have defended for centuries Brasov against the robbery from North-East. Then we past by the Red Lake, then through the Bicaz gorge and we arrive in Moldavia. In the afternoon we make a short stop at the monastery Neamt, that was established by the sovereign Stefan the Great. Today is the most beutifull day our trip from the landscape. D/O/B H. 6th Day Tour of the monasteries
In the mornings trip to the monastery Voronet, that is also known as the " Capella Sixtina" of Romania. Here we can admire a beautiful representation of the "Youngest Court". After that we drive to the monastery Moldovita, which is worlswide known for its exterior wall paintings. Finally we drive over the Obcina mountain to the monastery Sucevita. Here, on the exterior wall paintings, we can see scenes from the Bible and also about the history of the Romanian people. After thatwe'll make a short stop at the ceramic center Marginea, where we can see black ceramic. D/O/B H. Continental 3*
7th Day Suceava - Targu Mures
In the morning we drive to the west. The first stop is in Campulung Moldovenesc for visiting the wood museum of Bucovina. Here is a little surprise for everyone, like usually. After that, through the Tihuta pas, towards Transylvania. On the way, we'll make a short stop at the castle hotel Dracula, that is mentioned in Bram Stokers book "Dracula". In the afternoon we make a city tour in Bistrita. Here we can see the Protestant church of the city. The guild flags provide from the Middle Ages. After that we make a city tour in Targu Mures and we will see the Culture Palace and the orthodox -cathedral (the largest from Romania). D/O/B H. Continental 3*
8th Day Targu Mures – Sibiu
In the morning we drive to Sighisoara, that is very often compared with Rothenburg. Here you can see the Clock Tower, the birthplace of the sovereign Dracula, as well as the mountain church. The last stop will be in Biertan to see the largest churche castle of Transylvania. The churche castle was the residence of the Protestant bishops from Transylvania until the end of the 19th century. In the evening we will have a wine tasting and festive meal with folklore music in the R. "Sibiul Vechi". O/B

9th Day Sibiu - Pitesti
In the morning city tour in Sibiu and visit of the large and little ring, of the Bridge of Lies and of the Protestant cathedral. After that we will visit the museum Brukental. Century), one of the oldest from Romania, that was established by the sovereign Mircea the Old. The last visit will be at the monastery Curtea de Arges, which was constructed in the Moorish style. 2nd Day mo Pitesti - Sibiu
In the morning, we'll visit the monastery Curtea de Arges. The former sovereign's residence was built in Moorish style and is special for its decorated monastery church, from the year 1517. After that, the trip continues towards the Red Tower Pas, to Transylvania. At the monastery Cozia, that was built in the 14th century and is the oldest in Romania, the bus will make a short stop and we have the opportunity to take some nice photographs. After that, we reach Sibiu, where we will find out more about the sights during a city tour. In the good preserved medieval centre, there is still a part of the impressing old city to see. Powerful, the Protestant City Church of the 14th-15th centuries, raises in the little ring. To be seen are also the late baroque Bruckental Palace with its outstanding decorations and the numerous small and large medieval churches of the historic city centre. 3rd Day tu Sibiu - Targu Mures
After breakfast we'll drive to Medias, where we can see the famous Margareth Church with its largest wing altar of Romania. After that we will make an idyllic trip to Sighisoara, an outspoken attractive medieval city. This city gives an entirely special disposition with its pastel colours of the old town buildings. We will visit the famous Clock Tower, the house where Count Dracula was born and the medieval Mountain Church. We will drive then to Targu Mures and we’ll make a city tour. 4th Day Wed Targu Mures - Suceava
In the morning we‘ll reach Bistrita. We’ll make a city tour and visit the impressive Protestant Church of the 14th century. We can admire the buildings around the former grain market, which are still in good condition. We will drive after that through the East Carpathians, to reach Moldavia. On your way we’ll make a stop at the castle-hotel Dracula, the famous character from Bram Stoker's book. The first stop is in Campulung Moldovenesc, a beautiful little town in the Moldavia Valley. 5th Day Thu Tour of the monasteries
Today we will enjoy a tour, that will bring us closer to the beauty of the Bucovina monasteries. First stop is at the monastery Voronet, a real "symphony in blue". The harmonious unit was built by Stefan the Great in the 15th century and is well known for its frescos. The monumental wall painting of the "Last Judgement", that covers the entire vest front, will captivate each visitor and will remind us of the master works of the Sixtine Chapel. After visiting this, we will drive further to the monastery of Moldovita, that is also famous for its outside frescos. In this unit, the monastery life is much closer to feel: nuns are living and working here. The last station of our trip is the monastery Sucevita, with its large ensemble of defense and religious buildings. 6th Day Fri Suceava – Predeal
In the morning we will drive to the south and we’ll arrive in the southern part of Bucovina, in the romanian region, Moldavia. Giant foliage forests and needle forests, fruitful river valleys, little villages and numerous fort churches and monasteries make this area to a preferred starting point for the sight-seeing tours. At the famous monastery Neamt, which was established by Stefan the Great, the bus makes a stop. The powerful walls impress its visitors right from the entrance. Especially worthwhile is the church of Christ's Ascension, as well as the monastery museum. In the evening we will arrive in Predeal. D/O/B H. Orizont 3*
7th Day Sat Predeal
Predeal is a popular air spa at the border between Valachia and Transylvania and is the city at the highest altitude in Romania, at 1040 m height over the sea. We will visit the Castle Peles, that reminds us of the german castles from the middle ages, with its gothic and renaissance elements. The former royal summer residence was used by Ceausescu until 1989. After the visit we will drive to the Bran Castle, that will introduce us into the legendary world of Count Dracula. Even if this was never the home of the thirsty Count, the romantic shapes of the castle encourages the imagination. The numerous towers and the luxurious decoration invite to a stroll through the 14th century. In the afternoon we will make a city tour of Brasov. The largest and most important city of Transylvania is well known for its pretty colourful buildings. We will visit the Black Church, one of the largest gothic sacral buildings of Eastern Europe, the old city hall, as well as the Orthodox Church in the old town. After the sightseeing we will return to the hotel. In the evening, we’ll be expected at a festive dinner with an entertaining folklore-music programme at R."Cabana 3 Brazi". O/B H. Orizont 3*
8th Day Sun Predeal - Bucharest - Frankfurt
In the morning we’ll drive to Bucharest and we ’ll make here a city tour. The highlights are the Palace of the Parliament, the second largest building of the world, and the Patriarchal Church, residence of the orthodox head of Romania. In the well known village museum, we’ll see many good preserved houses and yards from different regions of Romania, a fascinating open-air museum. In the afternoon transfer to the airport, farewell from the romanian guide and flight home.

4th Day Tue Sibiu
In the morning, city tour in Sibiu. In the old town we will visit the large and the little ring, as well as the Bridge of Lies. 5th Day Wen Sibiu - Baia Mare
In the morning we drive to the vest, to Sebes. We can see here the gothic church and the Clock Tower. After that, short stop in Alba lulia. After that we visit the cathedral from the 13th century (residence of the Catholic Bishop from Transylvania) and we can also see the Old Fort of the city. This was built by Eugen of Savoy. In the afternoon we make a city tour in Cluj Napoca. We can see here the St. Michaels Church and the statue of Mathias Corvinus (one of the biggest hungarian kings). 6th Day Thu Baia Mare - Cimpulung Moldovenesc
In the morning we drive to the north, to the Ukrainian border. Here we can see the "cheerful cemetery" from Sapanta. On each gravestone is written a jolly poem over the deceased. After that we drive through the Iza valley, in the direction of Bucovina. On the way we can visit the wood churches from Rozavlea and Bogdan Voda. These rod churches are very similar to those from Norway. In the afternoon we drive over the Prislop Pas, from the East Carpathian Mountains into the northern part of Moldavia. D/O/B H. Zimbru 2*
7th Day Fri Tour of the monasteries
In the morning we drive to the monastery Moldovita, one of the monasteries that is worldwide known for its exteriour wall paintings. Nun Tatjana will present us the symbols of Orthodoxism. After that, we drive over the Obcina Mountain, to the monastery Sucevita. We can see here also scenes from the Bible on the exteriour wall paintings, as well as from the history of the romanian people. Afterwards we drive to the ceramics-center from Marginea. Black ceramics is still burned here after the old technology. In the afternoon, visit of the "Capella Sixtina” of Romania, the monastery Voronet. We can admire here a beautiful representation of the "Last Judgement". In the evening, festive meal with folklore program.

8th Day Sat Cimpulung Moldovenesc - Piatra Neamt
In the morning we drive to the south. First stop at the monastery Neamt. This was built by the sovereign Stefan the Great in the 15th century. After that, we drive to the monasteries Agapia and Varatec. These are some of the largest in entire Europe. Each of these monasteries counts over 1000 nuns. We can visit here the workshops, as well as the museums. In the afternoon, arrival in Piatra Neamt. 9th Day Sun Piatra Neamt - Tulcea
In the morning we drive through the southern part of Moldavia. The region is very rich in vineyards. After that we drive to Galati, the largest romanian harbour on the Danube. From here, with the ferry over the Danube, to the Dobrogea. After that we drive along the Danube to Tulcea, the gate of the Danube Delta. D/O/B H. Delta 3*
10th Day Mon Danube Delta
In the morning we sail with a ship into the Danube Delta: We drive on the main canal, Sulina. From here, through the old Danube, to the Pelican Reservation of the Fortune Lake. 2nd Day Carpathian Mountains
Predeal is a popular air spa at the Walachian -Transylvanian border and it is located at a height of 1040 MS over the sea. It is simultaneous the highest situated city of Romania. We will visit the Peles Castle with its gothic and renaissance elements in Sinaia. The Castle was used as a royal summer residence and also until 1989 by Ceausescu. Afterward we drive to the castle Bran, that was brought in connection with Dracula. Even if it was in no way the home of the blood thirsty count, the romantic ruins encourage the imagination. Numberless towers and luxurious decorations invite to a stroll through the 14th century. In the afternoon we will make a city tour through Brasov. The largest and most important city of Transylvania, is known for its pretty citizen houses. We will see the so-called Black Church, the largest gothic sacral style build building of Eastern Europe, the old City Hall, as well as the Orthodox Church in the old town. Return to the hotel. 3rd Day Predeal - Suceava
In the morning, drive to the north and arrival into the south of Bucovina, a part of the romanian region of Moldavia. Gigantic foliage and needle forests, valleys, little villages and numerous fortresses, churches and monasteries make this area to a preferred starting point for visiting tours. At the famous monastery Neamt, established of Stefan the Great, makes the bus it's first stop. With its powerful walls is impressing already from far away for its visitors. Especially worth seeing is the church with its collumn system in the center, as well as the monastery museum. In the evening you’ll reach the old sovereign city Suceava. D/O/B H. Continental 3*
4th Day Tour of the monasteries
Today we will enjoy a tour, that will bring us closer to the beauty of the Bucovina monasteries. First stop is at the monastery Voronet, a real "symphony in blue". The harmonious unit was built by Stefan the Great in the 15th century and is well known for its frescos. The monumental wall painting of the "Last Judgement", that covers the entire vest front, will captivate each visitor and will remind us of the master works of the Sixtine Chapel. After visiting this, we will drive further to the monastery of Moldovita, that is also famous for its outside frescos. In this unit, the monastery life is much closer to feel: nuns are living and working here. The last station of our trip is the monastery Sucevita, with its large ensemble of defense and religious buildings. 5th Day Suceava - Targu Mures (Neumarkt)
In the morning we will leave Suceava and drive to the west. First stop is in Campulung Moldovenesc, a beautiful little town in the Moldavia Valley. Here we’ll visit the Wood Museum with its wooden household objects. Through mountainous country, we drive afterwards to Transylvania. On your way we’ll make a stop at the castle-hotel Dracula, the famous character from Bram Stoker's book. In the afternoon we will reach Bistrita. We’ll make a city tour and visit the impressive Protestant Church of the 14th century. We can admire the buildings around the former grain market, which are still in good condition. After the breakfast, we will make an idyllic trip to Sighisoara, an outspoken attractive medieval city. 3rd Day Constanta
In the morning we’ll drive with the bus to Constanta, the largest harbour at the Black Sea. The Town was established from the Greeks in the 4th century before Christus. During the city tour, we will visit the arheological museum and the roman mosaic. After that short walk to the Turkish mosque. After the visit of the mosque, we will visit the orthodox church Peter and Paul. This was built by King Karl I after the same plans as that in Sinaia. Afterwards we will visit the Casino of Constanta. This is located at the Sea Bank and is very similar to that of Marseille. In the vicinity is the aquarium where we can see different fish typs from the Black Sea. In the end of the city tour we can see on the sea bank genovivian lighthouse (14th century). In the first afternoon hours, we are back again in the hotel in Mamaia. D/O/B
4th Day Danube Delta
In the morning we’ll drive with the bus to Tulcea. Day trip into the Danube Delta. Trip by ship on the main canal Sulina until the canall of the Mile 36 and from here through the old Danube to the Fortune lake and then to Nebunu Lake. Lunch on board. In the afternoon back to Tulcea. From here, we drive then with the bus to Mamaia. D/O/B.
5th Day Mangalia
In the morning we drive south to see the bath places situated in the north of Mangalia. On our way we can see places Olympus, Neptune and Jupiter. An important point of our trip is the visiting of the horse farms in the north of Mangalia. Here we can admire the prettiest thoroughbred Arabians of entirely Europe. Afterward city tour in Mangalia, visit of the old harbour as well as also the mosque that was established by the sultan Murat II. In the afternoon we drive back to the hotel. D/O/B.
6th Day Mamaia

3rd Day sun Church castles
In the morning we drive to the north, into the Tarnava Valley. The first stop is at the church castle from Axente Sever. After that, visit of the Margareth Church from Medias. We can see here the largest wing altar in entire Romania. Afterwards we drive to Sighisoara. Here we visit the Clock Tower, the house where Count Dracula was born, as well as the Mountain Church. 4th Day mon Sibiu

Afterwards, visit of the village museum from the "Young Forest" of Sibiu. In the evening we drive to Sibiel to see the glass-icons museum. After that, dinner at a farmer's home.
5th Day tue Sibiu - Baia Mare
In the morning we drive to the vest, to Sebes. We can see here the gothic church and the Clock Tower. After that, short stop in Alba lulia. After that we visit the cathedral from the 13th century (residence of the Catholic Bishop from Transylvania) and we can also see the Old Fort of the city. This was built by Eugen of Savoy. In the afternoon we make a city tour in Cluj Napoca. We can see here the St. Michaels Church and the statue of Mathias Corvinus (one of the biggest hungarian kings). In the evening, arrival in Baia Mare.
6th Day wed Baia Mare - Cimpulung Moldovenesc
In the morning we drive to the north, to the Ukrainian border. Here we can see the "cheerful cemetery" from Sapanta. On each gravestone is written a jolly poem over the deceased. After that we drive through the Iza valley, in the direction of Bucovina. On the way we can visit the wood churches from Rozavlea and Bogdan Voda. These rod churches are very similar to those from Norway. In the afternoon we drive over the Prislop Pas, from the East Carpathian Mountains into the northern part of Moldavia.
7th Day thu Tour of the monasteries
In the morning we drive to the monastery Moldovita, one of the monasteries that is worldwide known for its exteriour wall paintings. Nun Tatjana will present us the symbols of Orthodoxism. After that, we drive over the Obcina Mountain, to the monastery Sucevita. We can see here also scenes from the Bible on the exteriour wall paintings, as well as from the history of the romanian people. Afterwards we drive to the ceramics-center from Marginea. Black ceramics is still burned here after the old technology. In the afternoon, visit of the "Capella Sixtina” of Romania, the monastery Voronet. We can admire here a beautiful representation of the "Last Judgement". In the evening, festive meal with folklore program.
8th Day fri Cimpulung Moldovenesc - Piatra Neamt
In the morning we drive to the south. First stop at the monastery Neamt. This was built by the sovereign Stefan the Great in the 15th century. After that, we drive to the monasteries Agapia and Varatec. These are some of the largest in entire Europe. Each of these monasteries counts over 1000 nuns. We can visit here the workshops, as well as the museums. In the afternoon, arrival in Piatra Neamt. Short city tour with visit of the St. John Church, that was built by the sovereign Stefan the Great.
9th Day sat Piatra Neamt - Tulcea
In the morning we drive through the southern part of Moldavia. The region is very rich in vineyards. After that we drive to Galati, the largest romanian harbour on the Danube. From here, with the ferry over the Danube, to the Dobrogea. After that we drive along the Danube to Tulcea, the gate of the Danube Delta.
10th Day sun Danube Delta
In the morning we sail with a ship into the Danube Delta: We drive on the main canal, Sulina. From here, through the old Danube, to the Pelican Reservation of the Fortune Lake. Journey in the Carpathians country
1. Day Sat: home - Bucharest - Sibiu
Arrival at the midday to Bucharest. Meeting with the Rumanian guide and drive to Sibiu. In the evening cheerful dinner in the R. "Sibiul vechi" in Sibiu. O/B H.Continental 3*
2. Day Sun: Sibiu - Targu Mures
In the morning short city tour in Sibiu with visit at the big and small ring, the Bridge of Lies, as well as the Evangelical cathedral. Afterwards trough the Tarnava valley to visit the German fortified churches. We visit the fortified church from Slimnic, Axente Sever, Medias and Biertan. In the afternoon we visit the medieval city of Sighisoara with its clock tower, the birthplace of Dracula, as well as the church from the hill. Afterwards drive to Targu Mures. D/O/B H.Continental 3*
3. Day Mon: Targu Mures - Satu Mare
In the morning, short city tour in Targu Mures with visit at the culture palace and the orthodox church (biggest from Romania). Afterwards drive to Cluj Napoca to visit the Skt. Michaels church and the statue of Mathias Corvinus, one of the greatest Humgarian Kings. In the afternoon drive to Satu Mare. D/O/B H.Dacia 3* (architectural monument).
4. Day tue: Satu Mare - Campulung Moldovenesc
In the morning drive in the area of Maramures. The first stop will be at the cheerful cemetery from Sapanta. Here we can read on every gravestone a funny poem about the dead. Thats how these people laugh at the death. Afterwards drive trough the Iza-valley to visit the wood churches from Ieud, Rozavlea and Bogdan Voda. These wood churches are very similar to the ones from Norway. In the afternoon drive troough the east Carpathians in the Bukovina. D/O/B H.Zimbru 2*
5. Day wed: monasteries round trip
In the morning we drive to the monastery Moldovita, one of the monasteries that is worldwide known for its exteriour wall paintings. Nun Tatjana will present us the symbols of Orthodoxism. After that, we drive over the Obcina Mountain, to the monastery Sucevita. We can see here also scenes from the Bible on the exteriour wall paintings, as well as from the history of the romanian people. Afterwards we drive to the ceramics-center from Marginea. Black ceramics is still burned here after the old technology. In the afternoon, visit of the "Capella Sixtina” of Romania, the monastery Voronet. 6. Day thu: Campulung Moldovenesc - Predeal
In the morning drive south. Short stop at the monastery Neamt which was built by Stefan the Great. Afterwards drivetrough the to Bicaz-gorge to the Red Lake. In the afternoon drive trough the Szekler county. Visit at the fortified church of Prejmer or Harman. D/O/B H.Orizont 3*
7. Day Fri: Predeal
In the morning visit of the Peles-castle, summer residence of the Rumanian royal family. The castle was built in the typical Bavarian style. Afterwards visit of the monastery Sinaia which was built by monks coming from the Sinai peninsula. Afterwards drive to Brasov and visit at the Black church. Here is the biggest carpet collection of the world. Later, visit of the olde part of the city Brasov with the town hall and the orthodox church. In the afternoon, visit at the Bran castle, also known as Draculas castle. In the evening festive dinner in the R. "Cabana Trei Brazi". O/B H.Orizont 3*
8. Day Sat: Predeal - Bucharest - home
In the morning drive to Bucharest. Short city tour with visit at the patriarch's church, the Palace of the Parliament (second largest building in the world after the Pentagon), as well as at the village museum. Transfer to the airport, farewell from the Rumanian guide and flight home.

Transylvania and Walachia
1. Day: home - Bucharest - Sibiu
Arrival at the airport of Bucharest - Otopeni. Meeting with the Rumanian guide and drive in direction of the capital of Romania. Short city tour in Bucharest with visit at the patriarch's church (residence of the orthodox head of Romania) and the Palace of the Parliament (second largest building of the world after the Pentagon). Afterwards drive past Pitesti and trough the Red Tower pass to Transylvania. D/O/B H.Continental 3*
2. Day: fortified churches
In the morning drive trough the tarnava valley to visit the Saxon fortified churches. These were built in the 13th and 14th century by the German colonists in Transylvania. We begin with the church from Slimnic. Afterwards we visit the churches from Medias and from Biertan. This is the biggest fortified church from Romania. A highlight of the journey is also the visit of the town Sighisoara. Here we visit the clock tower, the birthplace Draculas and the mountain church. Back to Sibiu to visit the oldest part of the town. Here we can see the big and the small ring, as well as the Bridge of the Lies. Afterwards drive to Sibiel and cheerful dinner at the villigers home. O/B H. Continental 3*

In the morning drive to Brasov, the biggest city from Transylvania. Here we visit the Black Church. This has the biggest collection of prayer-carpets of the world. 4. Day: Predeal - Bucharest - home
In the morning drive to Bucharest. The second part of the city tour with visit at the place of the palace (centre where the revolution from the year 1989 took place) and the village museum. In the afternoon transfer to the airport of Bucharest - Otopeni, farewell from the Rumanian guide and flight home.

1. Day: home - Bucharest - Pitesti
Arrival at the airport of Bucharest-Otopeni. Meeting with the Rumanian guide and city tour in Bucharest. We visit the village museum, the Palace of the Parliament (second largest building in the world after the Pentagon) and the patriarch's church (residence of the orthodox head from Romania). 2. Day: Pitesti - Targu Mures
In the morning drive trough the Olt-valley. Short stop at the monastery Cozia (14th century), the oldest monastery from the tour. Afterwards city tour in Sibiu with at the big and small ring , the Bridge of Lies and the Bruckenthal museum. 3. Day: Targu Mures - Cimpulung Moldovenesc
In the morning visit at the orthodox cathedral from Targu Mures. Afterwards drive to the region of Moldavia. Short stop in Bistrita to visit the Gothic church with its guild flags. Afterwards, trough the Tihuta-pass, up to the monastery Moldovita. This monastery is known because of the outer wall paintings all over the world. Afterwards visit at the monastery Sucevita. 4. Day: Cimpulung Moldovenesc - Piatra Neamt
In the morning the monastery Voronet is visited. This is also known as "Capella sixtina" of Romania. The scene of the After Judgement which can also be admired as an outer wall painting, is very expressive. Afterwards drive south. The monasteries Agapia and Varatec are visited. Program 2.18.
treasures of Romania
1. Day Sat: home - Bucharest
Transfer to the hotel Central 3* and check-in. First part of the city tour. Dinner in the hotel.
2. Day So: Bucuresti - Horezu - Cozia - Sibiu (approx. 340 km)
Second part of the city tour in Bucharest. Afterwards drive past Pitesti to Horezu. If there is a monastery which one should in no case miss, so that is (approx. 50 km further), that one from Horezu. It was established 1691-97 by the monarch Constantin Brancoveanu in the typical style of the epoch (Romanian renaissance) and was accepted in 1995 in the UNESCO world cultural heritage. Afterwards drive further through the Red Tower pas to Transylvania. On the way, short visit of the fortified small monastery Cozia, which was built by the monarch Mircea the Old during years 1386-1388. In the late afternoon we reach Sibiu and, during a city tour, we get to know the sights of the city. The delightful oldest part of the town, with a lot of paved streets with houses covered with slate stand, forms a unity with remnants of the medieval fortifications and baroque palaces. After check-in, short drive to the mountain village Sibiel where we will enjoy an authentic dinner with the villigers.
3. Day Mon: Sibiu - Medias - Sighisoara - Tg. Mures - Bistrita - Tihuta (approx. 270 km)
After the breakfast, drive to Medias where we will see the famous Margarethian church with the biggest winged altar-piece and with the highest tower of Romania. Afterwards, we drive to Biertan where we can admire the biggest fortified church from over 200 churches from all over Transylvania. It was the residence for centuries of the Saxon evengelical Bishops of Transylvania. After the visit, we drive to Sighisoara, the most beautiful medieval city of Romania, which radiates a quite special mood. The medieval fortress (the only one still inhabited in Europe) is put down since 1990 on the UNESCO list of world cultural heritage. We will visit the famous clock tower from the 14th century, the birthplace of Vlad Tepes (Dracula) and the late-Gothic mountain church. Past Tg. Mures to Bistrita, where we make a short stop, further trough the Tihuta pass, to the castle hotel of Dracula where we can experience a dinner with campfire and vampire's delicacy. If it becomes lately enough, even the count will pay us personally a visit!
4. Day tue: Tihuta - Moldavia monasteries - Suceava
The current day brings a varied round trip which makes accessible the beauty of the famous Bukovina monasteries to us. These monasteries, painted in Byzantine style, true masterpieces which are here from the glorious times of the Moldavian culture (15th century), were declared as belonging the world cultural heritage by UNESCO. Here we visit the monastery Voronet, a "symphony in Blue" which is named with its unique shining "Voronet - blue" the "Capella Sixtina" of the Rumanian orthodox belief. Afterwards we visit the monastery Moldovita which is famous for its outside frescoes, and the monastery Sucevita where the painting on the north side still intactly in the original condition well preserved is. Then we drive to Suceava. City tour in Suceava, the first capital of Moldavia where we visit not only the unique orthodox churches, but also the remnants of the fortress of Stefans the Great. Check-in in the hotel of Continental 3*. Dinner with folklore and vine tasting
5. Day wed: Suceava - Agapia - Patria Neamt - Prejmer - Poiana Brasov
In the morning we visit the two monasteries Agapia and Varatec, which with over 1000 nuns are the biggest from Europe. We can see the life of the nuns better by taking a look at the workshops of the monasteries (where carpets, needleworks or icons are beeing made). Further, we drive trough the most beautiful region, namely we cross the east Carpathians trough the Bicaz-gorge past the Red Lake. Afterward drive to the next world culture treasures: the fortified churches of Harman and Prejmer. These unique military buildings, which were never conquered tell about the exciting history of the Barsei county and are on the UNESCO-world-cultural heritage list since 1993. Short trip in Poiana Brasov, famous holidays resort situated at an approx 1000 m over the Sea level. Festive dinner in the restaurant "Coliba haiducilor" and overnight in a 3* hotel.
6. Day thu: Poiana Brasov - Brasov - Bran - Sinaia - Bucharest (approx. 250 km)
Drive to Brasov and city tour (the enormous Black church, Schei-quarter, old fortress and the military arrangements are beeing visited). Short drive to Bran where we will look at the world-famous "Dracula-castle", a fortress built at the end of 14th century. Further we drive to Sinaia, the resort situated at aprox 800 m over the Sea level, also known as the "pearl of the Carpathians", where at the end of the 19th century king Carol I built an astonishing fairy tale castle. The castle has 160 splendid rooms used as the summer residence of the royal family. In the castle, Gustav Mahler with his brother worked and lived. The mural painting of theater hall is painted by him. Shortly after, we leave the Carpathians and drive trough the Valachian plain to Bucharest. In the evening we reach the capital of Romania in which we have the same hotel like in the first evening. Festive dinner.
7. Day Fri: flight home
In the morning city tour in Bucuresti. In the afternoon transfer to the airport and fare well of the Romanian guide.

3. Day: Sat Sighetul Marmatiei - Cimpulung Moldovenesc
In the morning we drive to Viseul de Sus. From here with the forest train up to the Water Valley. The unique experience with this hundred-year-old forest train driving trough this wild region, will remain for a long time in our memory. At noon festive lunch in the top of the mountains. In the afternoon return trip to Viseul de Sus. From now then by bus trough the Prislop-pass to Cimpulung Moldovenesc. D/O/B H.Zimbrul 2*
