History

The village of Sirecchia quickly rose around the tower built by Ottone di Sfonti in 754 AC. Meant as a more reclusive place than Oreggiano, it became the seat of power of family di Sfonti, which ruled over Caurenze for a long time. Sirecchia was left quite unmolested by the various fighting going over in Caurenze, because of its defensive position, which made it difficult to be sieged. Even when a fight took place in Sirecchia, matters had usually been settled into the Tower, making it one of those few place who hasn’t been in need of much repair.

Trails: L’Anellare leads Southeast to Scarvento, and North to Nesci.

Economics: Sirecchia is the typical village devolved to satisfy the needs of the ruling family. Food is imported from the rest of the Principality and from the nearby territories, and the main product exported is oil.

Beeches and immense chestnuts woods abound in the hills around Sirecchia. This territory is renowned among hunters its rich fauna. La Sagra del cinghiale (Boarfeast), takes place in Kaldmont.

Notable sites: Tower Sirecchia was built by Ottone di Sfonti soon after the death of Corrado, in 754. >From here, Prince Innocenti rules over Caurenze, and constantly looks for any plots against him. Three places display the greatness of caurenzan art.

The Private Library of the Prince, one of the largest in Glantri, kept since Astolfo di Sfonti was Viscount. Innocenti, however, never dares to read a book, since the pages might have been previously poisoned.

Sala Picta, an immense hall which hosts some of the most famous masterpieces of Glantrian painting.

Sculpture is represented by the wonderful busto of Alexander Glantri by the great Gérmino

Flachi, which records the fact the founder of the Republic of the Highland had lived for a long while in this very tower. Whenever Innocenti is plotting against someone else he covers the busto with a black veil wishing "to avoid the inquisitive stare of Alexander": few even suspects Innocenti owns such a masterpiece.

Poetry and music are alive and kicking, since the Prince pretends to like them very much.

The Stables are another place rarely visited by the Prince. Thanks to the efforts of the keeper, Dugo da Monsaere (born 961) (OD&D: Fighter 12th, Al N) (AD&D: Ranger 11th, Al NG), the dogs are still in perfect shape. Training dogs has been a family tradition for almost two centuries, and the dogs trained by Dugo are greatly requested by those who love hunting. Amongst Dugo’s best kept secrets, there’s a mixture he uses to increase the dogs’ aggressiveness: it is told to be poultry, ale and lime.

Innocenti has closed Piero Recioto’s school of Diplomacy (he didn’t want to train his future assassins), and he has forbidden the meeting of some literary Circles (who moved to Glantri or somewhere else).
