PUNTA GORDA -- A local nonprofit charity needs more toys to make a memorable Christmas for nearly 200 area children. Hands Across the World Inc. is looking for locals to donate toys for its Dec. 16 Christmas celebration at Gilchrist Park.

Gertrude J. Beaudoin, 86 TROY - Gertrude J. Beaudoin, 86, died Friday. The widow of Rodolphe J. Beaudoin, she is survived by five stepchildren, three siblings and several grandchilden, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Church.
