WIP in America
United States were the first country, along with Spain, to contribute to the evolution of genre in the early seventies. Thanks to some co-productions with Philippines and the good work of directors like Jack Hill, Gerry De Leon and Eddie Romero, the so-called "exploitation" became highly popular, taking the WIP genre to a new direction, stripping it of all the former social contents and making it essentially a strictly "entertainment-only" product.
