Fraser, minister witnesses Grace Loucks and Albert C. Greenhalgh

From a letter written by one his grandchildren:

I found that Stueben County marriage record - nice of someone to put that on line! At first I thought Avoca must be near Glen Spey, but it isn’t. The Loucks had a large farm in Avoca, and Arthur, as part of his agriculture studies at Cornell, worked on the farm and met daughter Mary.

Prior to Cornell, Arthur was the star quarterback at Ithaca High School, where mom Susan and the 2 other brothers lived while they were attending Cornell. Apparently Arthur just barely got into Cornell and was on the football team.

Arthur and Mary were married in the Loucks’ parlor. It is believed Thomas VI was in attendance and is surprised at his not being a witness.

At one point the Loucks removed a large wing of the farm house and had it moved into town, and some of the family lived in town.

Albert C. Greenhalgh is not on the 1880 Yonkers census as a brother of Susan – we are not sure who he is, but think he may be someone they called "Uncle Les", who seemed very prosperous.
