| [Whitfield Crane con gli ex-Faith No More] Whitfield Crane, ex cantante degli Ugly Kid Joe, ha fondato un nuovo gruppo con gli ex membri dei Faith No More Billy Gould (basso) e John Hudson (chitarra). Il progetto, con base a San Francisco, è ancora senza un nome: tuttavia i tre sono alla ricerca di un batterista e stanno già scrivendo materiale per il primo album, che uscirà probabilmente nel 2004. |
| [Si sciolgono i Chronic] Ecco il comunicato: "Cari amici con molto dispiacere devo comunicarvi che i chronic a quanto sembra sono giunti la termine della loro vita!!! Le notevoli delusioni , alcune incomprensioni nate all'interno del gruppo , hanno fatto si che l'interesse giungesse al termine. A quanto sembra (ma nulla è certo) il chittarista Francesco, il bassista David e il battersita Federico continueranno formando un'altro progetto (sicuramente non metal). Per quanto riguarda il canatante Ivan (allontanato dal gruppo a causa delle sue influenze troppo legate al metal) non è ancora chiaro il suo futuro!!! | [Auticada: split col cantante] Andrea Cavallini lascia, d'accordo con il resto del gruppo, senza alcun rancore. Ora la band ha in prova alcuni cantanti. Alla fine verra' scelto il cantante che piu' si adattera' alle esigenze prog-metal del gruppo. |
| [Liv Kristine lascia i Theatre Of Tragedy] I THEATRE OF TRAGEDY si sono separati dalla cantante Liv Kristine per divergenze d'opinione sul futuro della band. Gli altri membri continueranno a comporre musica con il monicker THEATRE OF TRAGEDY e sono ora alla ricerca di una nuova cantante. Nel frattempo Liv Kristine ha formato una nuova band chiamata LEAVES' EYES insieme ad alcuni membri degli ATROCITY (band in cui milita suo marito Alexander Krull) e debutteranno probabilmente all'inizio del 2004. | [DEICIDE: registrazioni terminate] I DEICIDE hanno terminato le registrazioni del loro nuovo album, "Scars Of The Crucifix", nei Morrisound Studios di Tampa, Florida, con il producer Neil Kernon (CANNIBAL CORPSE, NEVERMORE) e voleranno nei Sonic Ranch studios di Tornillo, Texas, in settembre per mixare il tutto. ] I Satyricon hanno firmato un contratto con la EatUrMusic, casa discografica del chitarrista dei Sistem of a down D. Malakian. Il chitarrista, con la sua label, si occuperà di far uscire "Volcano" in America ed ha lodato la band definendola "una band che alimenta la torcia del Black Metal", e parlando di "Volcano" in termini di "un disco più accessibile dei precedenti, un disco semplicemente Metal". | [Mortician - Nuovo batterista] Sam Inzerra è il nuovo batterista dei Mortician, ed attualmente non conosciamo ulteriori dettagli sul suo ingresso all'interno della succitata formazione. Tuttavia, si sa che la band suonerà al Bonded by Metal tour 2003 assieme a Exodus, Nuclear assault, Agent steel, God dethroned, Grave e tanti altri. La data italiana del tour in questione è fissata per il 22 ottobre 2003 all' Alcatraz di Milano. |
| [Behemoth] I polacchi Behemoth pubblicheranno il 14 Settembre un nuovo EP intitolato Conjuration: la release rappresenterà la prima pubblicazione della band con la Regain Records, con cui ha appena concluso un contratto per due albums, e sarà disponibile in quantità limitatissime (5000 cd, 500 picture-discs e 500 MLPs). A questo proposito il leader del gruppo, Nergal, ha dichiarato: "Vogliamo che Conjuration sia davvero un articolo per collezionisti; non c'è nessuna volontà di fare soldi, qui. Questo è il motivo per cui ne limitiamo le edizioni, presentando solo materiale inedito e di prima qualità e vendendolo ad un prezzo davvero basso. E' una cosa per i fans, che aspettano il nostro prossimo album, il quale non uscirà prima dell'autunno 2004". |

| [Madder Mortem, split con chitarrista e bassista] I norvegesi Madder Mortem hanno annunciato l'uscita dal gruppo del chitarrista Eirik Ulvo Langnes e del bassista Paul (Pål Mozart Bjørke). "Paul è uscito dal gruppo per concentrarsi al 100% su suo figlio e per vivere una vita più 'normale' rispetto all' 'anormale' stile dei Madder Mortem." | [News From The Grey Side Of Life] Firstly, due to the recording of the forthcoming SHINING album, our activities within the label have been rather limited, as we haven’t been near the office for quite some time, merely checking in once every week answering e-mails and shipping orders. This have quite understandably caused some inefficiency, and better yet, we had to fire Phil A. Cirone due to him fucking up quite much amongst our customers by sending wrong stuff to wrong targets, forgetting orders etc. Well, honestly, the list could go on forever. However, it is now entirely up to myself turning the company on the right side again, something I have been working with twenty-four seven for a week now. SHINING IV "The Eerie Cold" will be released in December, and we have two new employees coming in this Autumn. Sorting up the mess! ONDSKAPT are spreading their deadly venom across Europe now that we’ve finally managed to release the ever cursed full-length album "Draco Sit Mihi Dux", the reactions have been, as predicted, marvellous and if you by any chance haven’t purchased this milestone of evil yet, make sure to do so you ignorant worm! An exclusive vinyl edition to be issued by The Ajna Offensive later on this year… The also ever-cursed mini album, "Slave Under His Immortal Will", which was issued as a limited edition 10-inched vinyl release last year, was supposedly to be released in it’s CD-version at this present time as well, however, the entire product was misprinted and we have had to send off new films to our new printer to be able to release this monument once and for all. All previous mistakes in the past and up till now, production wise, which have been the main core of disturbing the labels activities, have all been caused by a lousy factory located in Czech Republic, namely GZ Digital Media, whom have followed all but our instructions on how to press our CDs and vinyl’s, thus, delay after delay, however, we have now officially changed factory and are now printing all coming Selbstmord items via Sony Industries, so quite some of our past problems should be cleared up by this. We have also finally managed to get all our past titles re-stocked and once again ready for shipment, CELLAR 001 - CELLAR 010, with exception of CELLAR 003 and CELLAR 004 shall now be purchased by you! Secondly, because of this people believe that CRAFT and FORGOTTEN TOMB have left us in search for other labels, this is also not true, FORGOTTEN TOMB, was due to many factors all seriously involved individuals know off, a necessity for us to leave behind, and we did this by selling the rights for their second album to Adipocere Records of France. Concerning CRAFT, a personal agreement between the band and the label which was made when signing the contract had to separate the two of us from each other after the release of their second album, and of course the re-issue of their first. | [Anathema in Studio!!!] Ecco cosa dice Danny Cavanagh: "Things are going very well here. For the first time in a while we recorded live together. Drums, bass, guitars and even vocals on a few songs. The sounds we have got going are very powerful. We aim to keep things simple on this album, maximising the tones that we have, feeling that its not neccesarry to stack lots of elements together to create a big sound. The songs themselves lend themselves to this simplified approach, being uncomplicated songs that get to the heart of the matter without having to go round the block to get there,if you see what I mean. Its fair to say you can expect a variety of songs and soundscapes on this one, from peaceful and ambient tones, to sonically massive great noises that we are barely able to control. There is a very cooperative and productive athmosphere between us, setting all our targets on a common goal of making a good album without ever compromising integrity, and without ever `over doing` it. The production side of things is being handled by us, wih the engineer Dan Turner doing a great job of organising and recording what we do. We seem to understand what needs to be done and how to do it, and to that effect I can only say that if all goes to plan then this will be a good album that we can be proud to put our names to. | [SCARLET RECORDS: nuove uscite] Prossimi all'uscita i danesi Invocator, band storica del panorama thrash estremo sul finire degli anni ottanta, primi novanta. Il nuovo album della band, il cui leader e produttore non è altri che Jacob Hansen (Hatesphere, Ancient, Illdisposed), si intitolerà 'Through The Flesh To The Soul' e presenterà la band con una nuova line-up al 100% della forma. Produzione mastodontica e pezzi molto tirati con melodie vincenti e moderne. La cover dell'album è stata curata da Chad M.Ward (già autore dei meravigliosi artwork dei Darkane). 'Through The Flesh To The Soul' uscirà anche in Giappone con una bonus song molto particolare, 'Abstract War' cover dei tedeschi Assassin! Al debutto invece i Blinded Colony, Svedesi, autori di un poderoso death metal dalle venature thrash, con ottime melodie. Il sound di 'Divine' raccoglie influenze varie come Soilwork, In Flames e Arch Enemy ma anche parecchio thrash made in USA ed il cantato aggressivo è un punto che distingue la band in maniera decisiva. Ottima la produzione ed il mastering curato da Goran Finnberg (Mastering Room). In Giappone la versione dell'album conterrà 2 bonus track tratte dal demo che ha portato la band a firmare con la Scarlet. Pronti alle registrazione anche i Node, che partiranno per la Svezia dove registreranno il loro terzo full-length dal titolo 'Das Kapital', il primo con il nuovo batterista Marco Di Salvia. La produzione sarà affidata ancora una volta al duo Pelle Saether-Lars Linden (Carnal Forge). In anteprima alcuni titoli 'War Goes On', 'Twenties', 'Outpost', 'The East-Ghost' e le dichiarazioni del cantante-chitarrista Daniel Botti: "Abbiamo affrontato la composizione di questo disco molto più serenamente rispetto ai precedenti. Ne è venuto fuori un lavoro molto più ispirato e 'sentito' da parte di tutta la band. E' veloce, dinamico, ricco di rabbia e riflessione sarcastica. Non abbiamo schemi, non ci piacciono le soluzioni definitive, le 'ricette' per dosare potenza e melodia. Ci piace suonare heavy metal. Questo è quello che abbiamo fatto." THROTTLE!!!] Hey you Metalheads out there, just a quick report on what's going on in the BYFIST camp. We have been having kickass rehersals, and have been writing new material that simply shreds. In the last few months we have been writing, recording, and just enjoying the whole feel of our music. We will be going back to the studio this week to do the final mixing and mastering on a few tunes that we are going to try and get on the album that we have coming out "Preserving the Past" on MetalAges Records, hopefully within the next 30 days. Now that we have worked in Rob Steele (vox) we will be puting together a small Texas tour , and then an Eastcoast tour. We probably won't get out to Europe this year especially since it is very hard to travel with the war just ending. Many places in Europe are not welcoming Americans right now and it is not safe to travel. But all you Europeon Metalheads just be patient we will be there before you know it and give you the ass kicking of your life. We really appreciate everyones support and we will continue to hold the Metal FLAG high and with pride. FUNERAL - Arises again from its grave] BLACK FUNERAL was originally a seminal black metal band in the early 1990's. Formed by Michael Ford, the band quickly became known for their cold and raw productions, aggressive attitude and focus on vampirism. Releasing several albums, Black Funeral became silent when founder Michael Ford (known then as Nachttoter) went on to form Valefor and release dark industrial albums through the late 90's. Black Funeral before going dormant recorded an album, "Belial Arisen", based on lycanthropy, Vampirism and the image of Demonolatry with a session member. This recording, which is reminding of early Emperor, Bathory and Mayhem, was a cold and very raw recording focused on the blood rites of Bathory and the demonic sorceries practiced by Coven Nachttoter, an extension of a black magical guild founded by Michael Ford. Now, in 2003 Black Funeral decided to continue, while not in a live situation (you will only see Psychonaut 75 perform Live Rituals) but in a new presentation of Sonic Black Magick. Behemoth Productions (a new label from Italy) will release on September 2003 "BELIAL ARISEN", the last pure black metal recording from the band to the masses. An Ensorcelment of Sound, the vampyric essence is being unearthed again from its grave. The sounds we have got going are very powerful. We aim to keep things simple on this album, maximising the tones that we have, feeling that its not neccesarry to stack lots of elements together to create a big sound. The songs themselves lend themselves to this simplified approach, being uncomplicated songs that get to the heart of the matter without having to go round the block to get there,if you see what I mean. Its fair to say you can expect a variety of songs and soundscapes on this one, from peaceful and ambient tones, to sonically massive great noises that we are barely able to control. There is a very cooperative and productive athmosphere between us, setting all our targets on a common goal of making a good album without ever compromising integrity, and without ever `over doing` it. The production side of things is being handled by us, wih the engineer Dan Turner doing a great job of organising and recording what we do. We seem to understand what needs to be done and how to do it, and to that effect I can only say that if all goes to plan then this will be a good album that we can be proud to put our names to. Il nuovo album della band, il cui leader e produttore non è altri che Jacob Hansen (Hatesphere, Ancient, Illdisposed), si intitolerà 'Through The Flesh To The Soul' e presenterà la band con una nuova line-up al 100% della forma. Produzione mastodontica e pezzi molto tirati con melodie vincenti e moderne. La cover dell'album è stata curata da Chad M.Ward (già autore dei meravigliosi artwork dei Darkane). 'Through The Flesh To The Soul' uscirà anche in Giappone con una bonus song molto particolare, 'Abstract War' cover dei tedeschi Assassin! Al debutto invece i Blinded Colony, Svedesi, autori di un poderoso death metal dalle venature thrash, con ottime melodie. Il sound di 'Divine' raccoglie influenze varie come Soilwork, In Flames e Arch Enemy ma anche parecchio thrash made in USA ed il cantato aggressivo è un punto che distingue la band in maniera decisiva. Ottima la produzione ed il mastering curato da Goran Finnberg (Mastering Room). In Giappone la versione dell'album conterrà 2 bonus track tratte dal demo che ha portato la band a firmare con la Scarlet. Pronti alle registrazione anche i Node, che partiranno per la Svezia dove registreranno il loro terzo full-length dal titolo 'Das Kapital', il primo con il nuovo batterista Marco Di Salvia. La produzione sarà affidata ancora una volta al duo Pelle Saether-Lars Linden (Carnal Forge). In anteprima alcuni titoli 'War Goes On', 'Twenties', 'Outpost', 'The East-Ghost' e le dichiarazioni del cantante-chitarrista Daniel Botti: "Abbiamo affrontato la composizione di questo disco molto più serenamente rispetto ai precedenti. Ne è venuto fuori un lavoro molto più ispirato e 'sentito' da parte di tutta la band. E' veloce, dinamico, ricco di rabbia e riflessione sarcastica. Non abbiamo schemi, non ci piacciono le soluzioni definitive, le 'ricette' per dosare potenza e melodia. Ci piace suonare heavy metal. Questo è quello che abbiamo fatto." Nuovo album anche per Cadaveria, la band è attualmente in studio per registrate il seguito del fortunato debut 'The Shadows Madame' che recentemente ha ottenuto una prestigiosa licenza in UK con la casa di produzione discografica e cinematografica Salvation Films, già produttrice di vari DVD Erotic-Horror tra cui anche i recenti clip-movies dei Cradle Of Filth. La label inglese ristamperà 'The Shadows Madame' in una nuova versione esclusiva per il territorio britannico e curerà direttamente la promozione della band anche in contesti non prettamente 'metal'.
