Salvador Dali

Salvador Felipe Jacinto Dali was born on May, 11th 1904 in Figueras, Catalonia, Spain and died on January, 23rd 1989 in his native city.

He was a great surrearlist painter and printmaker.   Avant guarde and risqué for his time, unafraid to challenge social and moral taboo's within his work.   Therefore, his subject matter was often deemed controversial, dealing with sex, religion and the subconscious.

This is one of his painting, (1951)   "The Crucifixion"
or "Christ of St. John on the Cross", shown in St. Mungo Museum of Glasgow.   Believe me, it's worth seeing it.

If you like to know more about him and see more of his surrealistic painting, go to:   Salvador Dali,

If you are in Glasgow, do not miss to see "The Mackintosh House", designed and decorated by one of the most astonishing architect of the beginning of the 20th century.   Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his wife Margaret Macdonald.
