John Callahan(CRaig) and Eva La Rue  have shared so much since they first met, including many good times as AMC's Maria and Edmund, and a five-year marriage. Now, the couple have welcomed their first child

-Vincent Irizarry(Scott) and wife Avalon welcomed Elias Christopher Irizarry on November 17. The baby, who weighed in at 8 lb., 14 oz, joins sisters Aria and Siena (Irizarry’s daughter from his marriage to Signy Coleman,ex-Celeste, Santa Barbara). Congrats!

-Jack Wagner(Warren) has a new gig — he’s set to host a new ESPN show, Off Course. The actor, who is also an accomplished golfer, will hit the links with entertainment and sports stars, and then interview the celebs about their golf game. No word yet on when the series will debut.

- Motherhood is currently Judith McConnell’s (ex-Sophia Capwell, Santa Barbara) favorite role, playing doting mom to her 11-year-old adopted daughter, Gwendolyn, rather than looking for acting work. “Gwen’s just gorgeous,” McConnell gushed to Soap Opera Weekly Associate West Coast Editor David Johnson. “She’s funny and bright. A pain in the neck like all children her age. She’s high energy. I just love her so, I can’t believe it!

- Nancy Lee Grahn(Julia) spoke about her  real life with 3-year-old daughter Kate. The little girl makes the same expressive faces that her mom does, and has a similar sense of humor — just Mama, Kate gets the joke and gives back a great one. “She’s a bit of a drama queen,” Grahn smiles. “She’s defiant like I am. I see how she’s so much like me, and I think it’s so funny.” In a way, Grahn is a bit surprised that the parenting experience has been so easy. “I expected it to be much more stressful. Things are going very smoothly and it’s always shocking when anything goes smoothly.” Although she’s a full-time parent and a full-time actress, Grahn says humbly that juggling is something that every mother learns how to do. “I think there is absolutely nothing extraordinary about what I do. I have a lot of help. There’s no struggle here for me. The majority of the time I choose to spend with her is because that’s what I get a kick out of doing.”

A Martinez (Cruz) recently ventured from Los Angeles to New York for a screening of his independent film, Ordinary Sinner, and met with Soap Opera Weekly Features Editor Joanne Gallo. “He’s such a sensitive soul, and he seems to feel with great intensity,” says Gallo, who notes that Martinez was deeply concerned about the terrorist attacks.
“I’m spending a lot more time reading more serious stuff than I generally read, trying to get educated,” Martinez related. “I think all of us should try to get as well-informed about it as we can so we cannot just sit around and snooze while really bad stuff happens to us.”
Martinez was just as serious about his role in Ordinary Sinner, an inspirational film about keeping the faith in a violent world, in which he plays a priest. “It was interesting to put on the vestments, to actually assume the costume, to feel how much more formal you start to behave when you’re dressed that way,” he recalled. “At the church we used, in a little town in Vermont, one of the priests who had actually led that church showed up in town to be in a scene where I gave a sermon, and sat right down in front, looking at me. Afterwards, he let me know that he approved, which was nice. It was an odd feeling to be in that man’s church and be assuming the role that he had played in real life for a long time.”
